Activate Ancient Artifacts

Hi All,

as I already said here: http://aurora2.pentarch.org/index.php?topic=12095.msg143525#msg143525

I was working on a fix for that. You will notice that there are also other different settings respect to the original DB. However, I just moved the Ancient Artifacts from a special good to standard (0) and add rare because I did not want to have too many of them. Not actually sure the rare it does work though. After testing I can confirm that I have successfully produced Ancient Artifacts with the below settings:







I have achieved these 2 different colonies:











DISCLAIMER: This requires you to modify the original DB and therefore you will not be able to report any bug as per general rules. I have tested on my games successfully and I can guarantee it will not cause or break your game in the long run.

If it works this way as intended Steve should take a look at it and include it in the base game...

If it works this way as intended Steve should take a look at it and include it in the base game...

Drop a link to this fix in the bug thread, just to make sure he sees this.

Are they produced only on colonies that have had ancient ruins / ancient constructs on them? Or is it just a few colonies will start making them randomly?

Sorry, been away with my team for preseason and just back.

It's random and treated like any other goods so some colonies will produce it some others will not. You can adjust when the colony starts producing them or if they are rare (less chance to generate) from the same tab. I have tested it now for a very long time and I never had issues. So I would consider it as an official fix while waiting for Steve to double-check why they are not active from the beginning or what under conditions they should spawn.
