Miscellaneous ground units questions
« on: May 10, 2020, 07:09:12 AM »
Given it is a brand new element of C#, I have several questions on them. No need to create one thread each time though...

So ...

1. How do you transfer an element from a formation to another, like buffing up a regiment with extra logistic, tanks etc.

2. What happens if your unit has less HQ capability than its weight? The commander "ceases to function" entirely, so to speak? Or his rating is degraded?

To transfer elements between formations:

Go to Ground Forces - Order of Battle, tick these checkboxes: Show Elements and Amount Pop-up.

You now see all elements of the formation and can drag and drop them as if you transfer whole formations. Amount Pop-up will allow you to specify how much to transfer.

For the second question, post by Steve:
Quote
if the largest HQ in a formation has a rating less than the formation size, the effectiveness of the formation commander's bonuses will be reduced by (HQ rating / formation size)

Thanks a bunch Black, I'm not sure how much days would have passed before I found by myself how to transfer elements! I would not say it is obscure, now I know how to do things, and it even seems logical ... But finding it in the first place ...  ;D

Now I can prepare Replacement Battalions and such like before the real units come to life!!  :D

Don't worry, it took me some time to find it as well when I dived into the ground unit management for the first time.

1.  Drag and drop

2.  Functions at lesser efficiency

I join in with a question..

Medium AA and Heavy AA can attack Aircraft if they attack a direct parent formation.
What is a Direct Parent formation? Only those under the same HQ or what?

Well, assuming your "Company" is a distinct unit with its own HQ, and it is attached as part of a "Battalion" with a battalion HQ element, then the battalion is the direct parent.

Note that AA with their own HQ element (as in, an AA company) are not in the direct parent formation.

Then two Company under the same Battalion are not direct parent, correct?

Correct - the companies are sibling formations while the battalion is the direct parent to each company
