Title: BBCode has a mind of its own?
Post by: Beersatron on October 14, 2009, 07:40:49 AM
If you look in this thread viewtopic.php?f=62&t=1678&start=0 (http://www.aurora.pentarch.org/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=1678&start=0) you can see that half the posts are not allowing BBCode and/or Smilies.

Any idea as to why?

(wasn't sure were to put this thread, hence why it is here)

It is to do with the way the persmissions have been set up for that particular forum.  It tends to occur for the threads with someone in addition to Erik as a moderator.  I can't remember the exact reason, but I'm sure Erik can explain it better than I have.

As near as I can tell, bbcode is now enabled for fiction forums.

Hi Erik,

Looks like this isn't working in Kurt's fiction (at least the new Twin Moons campaign).

I've seen 3 things weird about this forum (in order of noticing)

1)  There's no "go to new posts" link from the "Board index" level when new posts appear in Kurt's campaign.  This is in contrast to the stuff Steve is posting, which has the link.

2)  I just replied to Steve in a thread, and bbcode was off.

3)  (May be wrong about this one)  Right after posting, I went to the top of the screen to jump back to the "Board index" level.  The weird thing was that it only gave me the board-level link; it didn't give me any of the child links to jump to.  The reason I think I might be wrong about this one is that that is the behavior of the temporary screen that comes up while your post is being processed - I might have got confused as to which screen I was on (i.e. my post or the temporary screen), but I don't think I did.

[EDIT] - I just went back and checked #3 and it looks normal, so I was probably confused.

Thanks,
John

Those all should be fixed (crosses fingers)
