INS Vasa
« on: February 08, 2014, 07:48:14 AM »
6th October 2195 Commodore Jens Hansson of INS Vasa, destroyer of the late Imperial Terran Navy.
Silently he was looking down on Terra and the Baltic region some 30 km below him...
His thoughts went to his family, for the moment safely on Cydonia colony on Mars.
He turned to the assembled men and started talking:

We officers of the Imperial navy need to come to an understanding, the Empire is gone!
Shall we go on as Atlantis once did or shall we return to Terra and teach them about the future?
We could of course conquer the planet, at least a part of it, but this is our forefathers down there, and at this time Sweden is the strongest power in the North but that will change, in about a year  Sweden will be attacked by a coalition, Denmark, Sachsen and Russia. At first Sweden will conquer most of their adversaries, several battles will be spectacular Swedish victories, Narva in late 1700 and Fraustadt in 1706 but at Poltava 1709 Sweden loses the war...
With some help from us that could change...
But for that to happen we need information on every aspect of Earth at this time..

9th January 2196

Commodore Jens Hansson was looking at the information on his viewscreen, looking up to the young ensign in front of him.

So you think that this little project can be done on Terra?

Ensign Patricia Andersson Yes sir!
With the machine I have constructed we could take a smoothbore musket and rifle its barrel and with Minié ball and this percussion caps we could transform their warfare, instead of firing on troops some 25 meters away but a trained rifle man can hit the same at almost 500 meters and doing the same to their cannons would give them an unparalleled power.

Commodore Jens Hansson

Hmmm do we have the time?

Ensign Patricia Andersson

We could have some 3500 rifles and 20 cannons done before the war breaks out in less than a year, but the bigger problem is training troops to use it effectively. But how shall we present it to the Swedes?

Commodore Jens Hansson

Well that could pose as problem, but that will hopefully be solved soon. By the way ensign tomorrow morning we will travel down to Terra and hopefully meet the King.

Well its not... But what happens if a ship blows up when it is entering or inside a wormhole?
