Dawn of the Trans-Newtonian Age
Carius Sevso, the placed Governor of Earth, set out a policy aiming to expand the industrial and economic base of the Eikh Empire. He created two plans to construct shipyards for military and commercial ships while also setting up future plans for further construction and mining facilities. Sevso did not place much faith or competency in the Eikh Legions. He actively avoided the question of the Legion’s role in the Empire. Sevo was careful and afraid of handing too much power to any single agency or function. Compartmentalizing power to maintain his own was paramount in policy.
Fleet Leader Mantashag garnered support with the military warhawks in the senate to organize the Imperial Navy. The Mare Solaris formed the Navy’s bureaucratic lines of communication and interstellar sectors. Appointed Warleaders of various Eikh armies and militias were opposed to the creation of a spacefaring Navy. Especially being having an organization separate from the Legion. In the Imperial Senate, Mantashag berated the incompetent factionalized Legion (even at the risk of alienating his supporters) to drive further drive a wedge between the upcoming Navy and the ancient Legion.
Senior Group Leader Thebe of Agrinion challenged Mantashag to a “first blood” duel right in the Imperial Senate Halls. Atop of a hill near the capital of the Eikh Empire; the wind howled as the rain poured. Mantashag waited. He stood on this hill looking down at Thebe. Thebe unsheathed an ornate blade with inscribed Eikh esoteric runes; dipped in blood. The duel lasted less than a minute with Mantashag successfully drawing Thebe’s blood. Thebe and his faction honorably agreed to support Mantashag. In February of 4001, the Manticore Navy Shipyard and Vroienchtlas Shipyard were constructed in high orbit of former North America and Eastern Europe respectively. The Office of Redevelopment & Resources sets out work orders to expand the drydock size of both shipyards. The orders for more industrial development went in a few hours after.
A small group of scientists begin researching prototypes and designs for survey drones based on ancient Human designs. The project is kept secret until a presentable model can be revealed. They give the drone a working title of ”Riva” The Office of Redevelopment & Resources received an urgent report on June 14th, 4003 stating that sorium refinement is outpacing sorium mining. Major sorium refineries are ordered to cease production until further notice. Planetary Sorium reserves are estimated to deplete within 64 years. The remaining deposits contained only seventy-eight thousand tonnes left of Sorium. Geologists report that while planetary deposits are strong, industrial production is faster than mining output.
Major industrial sectors and facilities are commanded by the Governor and the Emperor to slow down production. Additional mines are prioritized but not constructed until a considerable stockpile of Trans-Newtonian minerals are mined. The economic refocus paved the path for a revitalization of the economy on Earth. The Eikh Assembly Forges of Pherae, Nyx, Tsathorita had invested their own capital into designing a vessel to utilize Survey Drones based upon the Riva prototypes developed by the collaboration of scientists. With this economic, industrial and academic development came the first interstellar civilian ship: the Shivva class Supply Barge. In late winter of 4019, the Shivva launched out of her orbital shipyard and made a trip around the Earth at 714 km/s using Pherae Sublight Engines. A remarkable hallmark in Eikh aerospace technology and history. While the cheers of Eikh’s first Trans-Newtonian flight died down, the Navy Stellar Cartographic Command worked tirelessly to complete the Riva Survey Drone and the new Twilight class Survey Cruiser. On the other side of Earth, the Stellar Cartographic Command research department has discovered an ancient Zikh and Human theory of Jump Point travel.

The Twilight class is approved by the Imperial Senate. The Imperial Senate spent little time deliberating on the design as spacefaring vessels are not their academic purview. Nor were they privy to the science of the patent. Nevertheless ignorant and unknowing military leaders saw the Twilight class as a great recruitment strategy as well as a possible field for military science. The majority approved with some senators abstaining from the vote.
Her hull began immediate construction over former North America.
With advancements and technology being researched and the industry improving, the Eikh Empire is in a good position to expand. Tensions are beginning to rise between the Navy and the Legion over the issue of their respective roles in warfare. If one were to call any age in Eikh history a golden age, it could be this period. Ambitious leaders in the Empire have their own unique vision of the future. Complacent and decadent corruption may stand in the way of progress, soon.
