Captain Ben Coventry of the MSV Amber has been forced to retire due to illness. While most diseases are now so rare that they are nearly non-existant, some genetic issues still remain. Captain Coventry, as a member of Baria Frontiers and not the Alliance Navy, had not undergone any gene modification treatments that would have kept him from becoming sick. All Alliance Military personnel must receive gene treatments to prevent diseases such as cancer and diabetes. Some personnel also receive treatments to increase muscle mass, bone density and other physical enhancements to make them better at what they do.

April 4th, 81AS
Three more maintenance facilities were recovered on Europa. They were immediately transfered to the military base for use in maintaining Alliance vessels.

May 7th, 81AS
The freighters MSV Valencia and MSV Vega have finished moving a number of mining facilities to Europa. The mining facilities need almost no human oversight as the VIs operating the machines are advanced enough to find, extract and refine the minerals on their own.

May 17th, 81AS
The Karstensens Orbital Shipyard above Earth finished retooling its slipways to handle production of the Discovery-II class Geological Survey Vessel. The MSV Sapphire is the first ship to begin the process of being updated.

May 27th, 81AS
A team of researchers led by Dr. Brooks Rupar has managed to increase the efficiency of electro-magnetic sensor arrays. By braiding the Uridium wiring in a specific pattern, and then intertwining the Uridium braid with ultra thin Duranium strands they are able to detect EM signatures from greater distances.(EM Sensor Sensitivity 11)

June 7th, 81AS
A more advanced VI and better haptic interfaces created by Dr. Larissa Jan has increased the efficiency of the Alliance's numerous shipyards. These improvements include "Linear Learning Capabilities," which allow the VI to learn from past events and then use that information to predict future needs.(Shipbuilding Rate 560 BP)

June 17th, 81AS
The MSV Thor Heyerdahl has been overhauled and is again ready for service. Baria Frontiers has decided to halt all exploration beyond the second level of jump points for the near future and is instead working to complete surveys in all of the known systems. The MSV Thor Heyerdahl is sent to survey the Hercules System.

July 27th, 81AS
A cache of mining equipment was discovered hidden in the ruins on Europa. The machines needed repair and were some what complicated to use but were still transfered to the Europa colony for use in mineral extraction.

August 17th, 81AS
Professor Jarret Stollings of the Mars Technical Institute published the results of a year long project to find inefficiencies in the shipbuilding industry. His findings resulted in a number of changes in how the Alliance shipyards operated.(Shipyard Operations: 5% Time/Cost Saving)
And on Europa, the engineers announced the restoration of an ancient atmosphere factory. The facility was running at 100% efficiency and joined the Alliance atmosphere factories in creating habitable zones on the moon.

August 27th, 81AS
Another team of engineers on Europa managed to bring a fuel refinery back on line. As Europa has Sorium deposits estimated at over 2 million tons, the refinery will remain on the moon and begin producing fuel for use by the Alliance Navy and civilian companies.

September 27th, 81AS
A team of engineers were working to restore an atmosphere factory on Europa when they discovered a fully functional database. They immediately called in the scientists working nearby who were able to decipher the data and reveal that the Xodar Commonwealth actually used a more efficient method to produce and filter gasses. The discovery would increase the speed at which the Alliance could terraform planets in the future.(Terraforming Rate 0.0015)

One of the junior aides of Sector Governor Luciano Schauf has shown himself to be a very talented politician. Nick Gaulin graduated top of his class from the Stanford Institue of Law, as well as earning degrees in economics and engineering. Governor Schauf has asked that he be put in charge of one of the numerous mining colonies, which the Alliance Parliament eagerly agreed to. As administrator of Crommelin he will have the chance to hone his skills and begin learning what is expected from a politician in the Systems Alliance.(This guy is awesome. 21 years old, level 2 with a political reliability bonus and a shipbuilding bonus of 15%; a logistics bonus, terraforming bonus and population growth bonus of 10%; a mining bonus of 20%; and a GU construction bonus of 30%. I can't wait for this guy to get to Admin Rating 4 or 5 so I can put him in charge of either Earth or Mars.)

October 8th, 81AS – Bridge of the MSV Yuri Gagarin, Amun System
Captain Thomas Heigh stood on the bridge of the Yuri Gagarin looking out into the emptiness of space. He'd been in charge of this ship for over 2 ½ years. In that time he'd seen a lot of interesting things. A trinary star system, the Faryar system and it's garden moon. He'd seen the entirety of at least 6 solar systems besides Sol. In his mind, he'd seen it all. For Captain Heigh, today would just be another routine day. He'd oversee the methodical scanning of the space in this sector, looking for the gravitational anomalies that indicated this was one end of a corridor between the stars. It was a little after 11am, and Captain Heigh was getting hungry. He turned from the viewport and began walking towards the back of the bridge. Before leaving he turned to his XO, a man by the name of Matthew Tiller, and said, “Matt, I'm going to get some lunch. You have the bridge.” XO Tiller just waved his hand, still staring at the screen in front of him. Captain Heigh smirked at the thought of how casual everything had become. It used to be that even though this ship was owned by Baria Frontiers everyone acted as though it was a military vessel. People saluted, called you sir, ran around like they were doing something important. Now, however, things were a lot more relaxed. There was no more saluting, no more worry about rank, and everybody moved slowly but with purpose. Captain Heigh continued to muse over the changes as he made his way down the hallway until a shrill alarm sounded. He looked around, not registering just what the alarm meant, and then suddenly twisted around and ran back to the bridge. He was barely inside the door when he started to be bombarded with questions from his crew, “What do we do?” “What happens if they attack?” “We have to get out of here!” were just some of the many things he was hearing. He got to his command chair and then looked up, “Matt, turn on the transponder. Navigation, turn us towards the Tereshkova jump point, full speed.” Then he pressed a button on his console and spoke again, “Brace for impact.” His crew moved quick, XO Tiller moved his hands over the holographic keyboard in front of him, the haptic gloves he wore letting him “feel” the keys beneath his fingers. The navigational officer, a civilian name Sherry Dukes, already had the ship pointed toward the nearby jump point. XO Tiller looked up and said, “Captain, we're broadcasting as a neutral contact, and our sensors report the ship is capable of 5356km/s.” Captain Heigh was looking at his screen, the ship was headed right at them and for a second the image of the alien ship ramming his flashed before his eyes. But instead, the alien vessel just fell in behind them. The MSV Yuri Gagarin was a defenseless survey vessel, and everybody knew that if the aliens attacked they'd die out here, far from home with no one to help them.
Hours passed as the Yuri Gagarin headed toward the Tereshkova jump point. It was now about 4pm, when suddenly another alarm sounded on the bridge. Then the ship's computer announced, “New active sensor detected. Estimated Strength 5416, Resolution 86. Captain Heigh froze, the horror of dying in space keeping him from thinking. A few seconds passed, and then a few minutes, and still nothing happened. XO Tiller was the first one to recover, “Captain, I don't think they're attacking us.” Captain Heigh shook his head, and then nodded, “Keep making for the jump point. When we get there, drop a comm buoy on this side before we transit.”
That was the last order given for the next 24 hours. Captain Heigh and XO Tiller slept in shifts, each taking a turn watching the sensor read out. The alien ship continued to pace them, only a couple kilometers behind them. And then suddenly they were gone. They just changed course and disappeared from the sensors. XO Tiller was in command and the time, and he let out an audible sigh before turning on the ship's internal comm system, “Sensor contact with the alien ship has been lost. They've changed course away from us. We're proceeding to the Tereshkova system where we'll use the comm buoy to send a report back to Alliance Command.”

October 11th, 81AS – ESA Headquarters, New York City
Dr. Walter Chapell had just finished giving a report to the Alliance Parliament and Naval Command. He felt exhausted, almost beaten. It was a long session, nearly 10 hours straight of debate over what to do with the report received from the MSV Yuri Gagarin. He'd been called in because he was considered the premier expert on aliens, but that only meant he'd made a number of discoveries in the ruins on Europa. He'd never met an alien, he didn't know how they thought, or how they might communicate. After hours of trying to decide just what to do, they finally agreed to his idea. The Alliance would try to communicate with the new aliens. They would utilize the comm buoys the survey ships had been placing at each of the jump points. These buoys utilized the anomalies of a jump point to transmit data nearly instantaneously. What would take conventional transmission methods years or millenia to transmit could be done in a matter of seconds now. And everybody was hoping that with communication attempts would come understanding with the aliens, and not war.

October 13th, 81AS
The MSV Yuri Gagarin was allowed to leave the Tereshkova System, but was ordered to avoid the Amun System. Instead the ship would move to the Gorgon System and begin survey operations there. The SSV Apogee would be sent to monitor the Amun jump point in its stead.

December 3rd, 81AS
The Alliance Parliament has received a report detailing the continued failings of the communication attempts with the aliens in the Amun System. The team of linguists, symbologists and xenobiologists is beginning to believe that communication is impossible.
In other news, the Electric Boat Corporation's Orbital Shipyard has completed an expansion of its slipways. The shipyard can now handle the construction of vessels up to 7500 tons.

January 18th, 82AS
The SSV Afghan suffered a component malfunction during training exercised above Mars. A missile launcher failed to load properly while the crew was practicing for a combat engagement. Thankfully the missile was only a training device and had neither fuel nor ordnance installed. The failed component was quickly replaced by the onboard maintenance crew and the ship was able to continue operations.

January 23rd, 82AS
Solter Carrier Ltd has launched the first Sorium harvester. The 85,250 ton vessel is equipped with 30 Sorium refining modules capable of producing 720,000 liters of fuel per year. The company has promised to give precedence to any Alliance vessels before selling the fuel to private customers in return for the right to skim Sorium from the atmosphere of Jupiter.

January 23rd, 82AS – Office of Dr. Walter Chapell -  Liberty City, Mars
This is insane. This can't be real. This is just too much. Those thoughts were running through the mind of Dr. Walter Chapell as he looked over the report in front of him. Just a couple months ago he was called in to advise on communicating with an alien race, which is going horribly, and now they're telling him they might have found proof that Humans were engineered? He continued to read through the report, but he couldn't find any reason to believe it had to do with humans. An installation on Europa has been identified as a genetic research facility. Scientists at the site have been scouring it for signs of human DNA, but so far have only found DNA so different from ours that it is impossible its related. Dr. Chapell sighed, and then stood up. “Well,” he thought, “I guess I'm going to Europa.”

March 3rd, 82AS
A team of engineers on Europa managed to restore a Deep Space Tracking Station. About half of the equipment needed to be replaced but in the end it was quite simple. The station would now assist the other one in the Europa mining colony in monitoring space around the moon.

March 13th, 82AS
The Hunters Point Naval Shipyard above Earth has completed retooling its equipment to handle construction of the Explorer class gravitational survey vessel. The older Napoleon class vessels will be updated when they come in for regular maintenance.

March 28th, 82AS
Genesee Industries on Mars has completed of a massive expansion of it factory complexes. The new production capacity will be used to further increase the manufacturing capabilities of the planet in an attempt to bring it up to par with Earth. May 18th, 82AS
The Scott & Co. Orbital Shipyard above Mars completed the refit of the SSV Velociraptor to the new Indigo(Flight I). The shipyard has only one operational slipway, and as such the refits will take some time. The Alliance has offered to fund the expansion to speed up the process.

June 3rd, 82AS – Office of Sector Governor Luciano Schauf
Governor Luciano Schauf sat with his fingers laced on the desk in front of him. Before him sat a scientist droning on about some hypothesis on alien speech, and Commander Russel Luxton, who currently coordinates Fleet movements around Earth. The scientist continued talking about how there must have been some issue with our broadcast, that all of his research has shown time and time again that the likelihood of an alien race being unwilling or unable to communicate was so slim as to be non-existent. Finally, Governor Shauf couldn't stand it anymore. “Please, just be quiet. What you're telling me is that the communication attempts failed because we weren't nice enough? How ridiculous is that? We followed every protocol we've had set up for this! We fled the system, we dropped an unarmed, unarmored communication buoy and we immediately began broadcasting in every human language, mathematics and binary. You cannot sit there and tell me we did something wrong! There had been no response from the aliens in that system until they blew our damn buoy to pieces. Now, Commander Luxton, what do you have to add?” Commander Russel Luxton was a 48 year old career military man. He had enlisted at the age of 18 and had been an exceptional officer from the start. Today he was in charge of all Fleet Activity in the Sol System, but he was definitely not an expert on hostile aliens. “Well, Mr. Schauf, I think it's rather simple. We now know that they are a threat to our activities in the Amun System, as well as a potential threat to the Tereshkova System. We have no choice but to quarantine the jump point and prepare to launch an attack to remove them.” The bespectacled scientist almost choked, but was quickly silenced by a look from Governor Schauf. “I believe you're right commander. The Alliance Parliament is meeting in less than an hour, and I'll make the report to them then.”

June 11th, 82AS
The MSV Leif Ericson has completed the gravitational survey of the Balor System. The system is a dead end, lacking a single jump point leading away from Sol. The MSV Leif Ericson was also recalled to Earth in order to undergo a refit to the new Explorer series of gravitational survey vessel.

June 26th, 82AS
Beckmann Financial has announced the opening of its new financial center on Mars. The center is the first of its kind on Mars, and was built to increase the planet's share in financial transactions throughout the Alliance.

August 1st, 82AS
The MSV Yuri Gagarin completed its survey of the Gorgon System. The System has a single jump point leading out from Sol. The MSV Yuri Gagarin was ordered back to Earth for maintenance and shore leave, and would then be sent to the Malgus System.

August 16th, 82AS
The survey of the Newton System was completed by the MSV Amerigo Vespucci. Only one jump point leading away from Sol was found. The MSV Amerigo Vespucci plans to return to Earth for refueling and then head to the Malgus System, the last of the unexplored systems beyond Tereshkova. The first of Eldfell-Ashland Energy's mobile Sorium refineries left the W. Simons and Co. Orbital Shipyard. These behemoths were built for the Alliance's use in extracting and refining Sorium from the atmospheres of gas giants. After a quick shakedown cruise the MSV Niagara and MSV Genesee woul head to Jupiter to begin operations.

September 11th, 82AS
The first of the Discovery class survey vessels completed her refit to the Discovery-II variant. The MSV Sapphire is now en route to the Columbia System to map mineral deposits there.

September 16th, 82AS
A number of primitive machines identified as shield generators were discovered on Europa. The shield were packaged and readied for transport back to Earth, with the intention of studying them and then potentially using them as a prototype to design a more modern version.

October 7th, 82AS
Advances in manufacturing processes have been applied the the construction of missiles. By using minifacturing techniques, the Alliance's ordinance factories are able to produce warheads quicker and more efficiently. The minifacturing techniques include nano-robotics that utilize a self-structuring polymer to insulate the delicate electronics inside the missile. These techniques allow the ordnance factories to save a lot of money that had previously been spent on machinery and specialists capable of performing the intricate tasks.(Ordnance Construction Rate 12BP)

November 21st, 82As
A second stock of primitive shield generators were uncovered on Europa. As these components were obviously inferior to the Alliance's current capabilities, it was decided to scrap them in order to recover resources from the find.

December 26th, 82AS
The MSV Amber has finished her refit to the Discovery-II variant. Baria Frontiers immediately ordered the vessel to the Faryar System to complete the mineral survey of that system. Only three comets remain to be surveyed, but their orbital paths take them over 100 million kilometers away from the jump point. The 340 million kilometer range of the Discovery-II class should allow the ships to reach them, however.

Current Mineral Wealth of Faryar System:

Duranium – 46,769,732 tons(34,978,250 tons of which is located on Childress)
Neutronium – 11,818,220 + 5185tons

A message is sent to the MSV Thor Heyerdahl to return to Earth after her queued survey orders are completed. The Thor will undergo refit to the newer Explorer design to be better suited for long range survey deployments.

February 22nd, 83AS
The SSV Apogee is recalled from the Tereshkova System, where the ship was monitoring the Amun jump point. There has been no sign of the hostile aliens attempting to leave Amun, and as survey operations are winding down Alliance Naval Command feels it is now safe to bring the ship home.

April 8th, 83AS
The first three ships of the Gettysburg class of Frigates were completed in orbit of Earth at the Jiangnan Orbital Shipyard. The SSV Gettysburg, SSV Vicksburg and SSV Waterloo would need to have their sensor suites updated to more modern standards but other than a couple modifications the ships were 100% combat ready. The three ships would be part of the first Extra-Solar patrol fleet intended for deployment in the Faryar System. Automated mines have been being shipped to Childress for the past month or so, and soon civilian infrastructure would follow.

June 2nd, 83AS
Brigadier General George Hyacinthe was overseeing the civil engineers working the ruins of the Xodar Commonwealth. He'd been here since the start, in fact he was the first person to enter the ruins proper. He'd directed the recovery of millions of liters of fuel, outdated ship components and intact facilities. He was a happy man, his family lived on Europa now, in the habitation domes of the moon's only city. He got to see his two kids every weekend, and they were always talking about how they were so proud of him. He nearly choked up every time he thought about it, knowing that every thing was so great in his life. Work continued on the ruins, it was steady but not necessarily fast. New discoveries were always met with excitement and enthusiasm, but the long stretches of time that could pass between such events could be extremely boring. This one of those stretches. George just shook his head and stood up from the low stone wall he'd been using as a seat. He was about halfway to the nearest active dig site when the ignited around him. The bright flashes of light and sudden, deafening cracks immediately reminded him of the war in Brazil. But this was a dead world, a world of ice and rock. There was no one to fight here. Suddenly he saw one of the researchers running towards him. The man, in his early 30s, was screaming something George couldn't hear until the man came much closer. “We've gotta get out of here! There's machines, machines just pouring out of the vault! Run! We're dead if we don't!” That was all Brigadier General George Hyacinthe needed to hear. The only weapon he carried was a small sidearm, but that was enough. He survived Brazil, and there was no way in hell he'd run from some rusty old machines. Unholstering his sidearm at the same time, he hit a button on his wrist-mounted comm, “Alert all troops, it appears we've triggered some kind of automated defenses. I repeat, we've triggered hostile robotic defenders. Mark my position, this is now Position Alpha, and all counter attacks are to be launched from here.”

June 7th, 83AS
A counter attack was launched from the ruins on the robotic defenders. Alliance troops suffered no casualties while the hostiles lost an estimated 17% of their fighting force.

June 12th, 83AS
Alliance ground forces continue to pound the robotic aliens, launching an extremely effective attack inflicting about 25% casualties on the enemy.

June 17th, 83AS
Brigadier General George Hyacinthe stood atop a pile of rubble, looking through his binoculars at alien machines that were still trying to advance on their position. He was covered in grime, the dirt and dust of the ruins mixed with grease and oil from the robots. As the highest ranking officer on Europa it was on him to defend the populace, which so far he has done. The attackers were confined to the ruins thanks to a combination of his courage and the quick action of the other Army Officers under his command. Hyacinthe could see that the enemy's forces were nearly depleted, and he could feel that this would be the last battle. He turned to Colonel Rashad Fanara and handed him the binoculars, “Take a look, son. We're almost done. This is going to be the shortest war in Alliance history. Two weeks and they're down to a third of their original forces.” Colonel Fanara was too nervous to do anything but look at the enemy through the binoculars. He didn't want to admit that he was terrified, afraid of dying on this cold, desolate moon. He'd never seen combat before these robots came rushing out of the ruins and though most people would say it was better to kill a machine than another man, Fanara didn't feel that way. These machines were built to destroy. They had no emotions, they had no mercy, they just marched forward no matter the destruction around them. They gave him the chills, and he hoped the General was right.
As it turned out, Brigadier General George Hyacinthe was right. The robotic aliens marched straight into an ambush, facing fire from three sides. The Alliance forces suffered no casualties in this action either, while the aliens were utterly destroyed. When the report was sent back to Alliance Command, every one of the participating officers were awarded Combat Honors and they were assured their names would be remembered for generations to come.

A number of primitive commercial engines were found on Europa. This is the third such stockpile found, and the researches at the site are beginning to believe Europa was once a major shipbuilding center of the Xodar Commonwealth. The other finds of shield generators, military engines and large fuel reserves lend credibility to this theory.

The podium stood on top of a stage at the shore of Cape Canaveral, Florida. It seemed a fitting setting for the press conference, but still Commander Russel Luxton was nervous. This was the launch ceremony for the Alliance's first true vessels of war. The Broadsword was the largest ship the Alliance Navy had ever built, and it was designed to project the might of the Alliance out from Sol. Commander Luxton stepped up to the podium and adjusted the microphone. The crows immediately broke into cheers and clapping for the Commander, but he just waved his hand for silence. “Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm here today to tell you that the Alliance has truly moved into the Modern Era. Today we see the launch of the first Broadsword cruisers, the SSV Broadsword and the SSV Sabre. Right now, they are accelerating towards Mars on their shakedown cruise before heading back to Earth orbit to begin training exercises. I assure you that you can sleep soundly tonight knowing that the Alliance's most powerful ships are watching over all of us.” What he didn't say to the crowd was that the Broadsword cruisers were woefully ill-equipped for true warfare. The outdated sensors that were installed had to be replaced, and the storage space expanded in order to ensure the ship could launch more than a handful of missiles. But that was the Alliance Naval Command way, build a ship today, make it worth building tomorrow.

Warrant Officer Robin Tappan sat staring at the computer screens in front of her. Being the Chief Intelligence Officer for the First Fleet seemed like a prestigious job to most people, but in actuality it was quite boring. The aliens in the Amun System still seemed happy to stay there and as the system was quarantined there was no way to gather new information about them. And those were the only aliens anyone knew about. For Warrant Officer Tappan this job was just a stepping stone to a career in the Alliance Intelligence Office. The AIO was a holdover from before the Earth was unified, an amalgam of the Earth's great intelligence agencies that found they didn't have much to do once humanity started trying to reach the stars. Most countries on Earth and the colonies on Mars openly shared information about new technologies and discoveries. Strict Alliance laws with harsh penalties for withholding information almost erased the need for conventional intelligence officers. Today most countries bought their information from shadowy information brokers. These brokers were anonymous and operated in the less clear areas of Alliance law. Most of them were, of course, criminals but they knew who to pay and who to threaten to stay out of trouble. Robin once wanted to be just like them. She read countless books of the amazing lives these people lived, the romances and money they had. She used to believe that there were really information brokers that owned asteroids and moons where they had secret bases filled with information they'd bought and stolen. And then she joined the Alliance Navy. Her work with ACom and now AIO made it clear that no one could operate a secret base without being found, and so when her screened flashed a warning about an unknown energy signature radiating from the Caestus Jump Point she thought it was a glitch. But then the computer told her the impossible: “Unauthorized Transit Detected. No Alliance Ships In Area. Jump Engine Output Does Not Match Any Known Alliance Registered Vessel. Potential Hostile Presence.” She immediately keyed a command in to forward the information to Alliance Naval Command.
When the message was received by Commander Luxton he was at home with his wife. His personal computer chimed for his attention and when he read the readout he almost choked. Commander Luxton turned to his wife and said, “I have to go.” Before she could even protest or ask why, Commander Luxton was already at the door to his balcony. He jogged to his vehicle, pressed his hand to the door and then quickly climbed in as the door lifted upward. Pressing a series of buttons on the console, he grabbed the steering wheel and switched the vehicle to manual. As the small, personal transport moved into traffic he gunned the engine and pressed another button on the steering wheel. Ensign Hagiwara Taji was on the bridge of the SSV Broadsword when the comm beeped. As no one else was around, he answered it. “This is Ensign Hagiwara Taji, on the SSV Broadsword.” “Ensign, prepare that ship for duty! We've got possible hostiles in Sol, get the crew to stations and head to the Caestus Jump Point!” “Uhh... Sir? I'm not a Captain, I'm just touring the ship.” “Never mind that. You're now Captain Hagiwara Taji, now get that ship moving!” The comm cut off, leaving the new Captain speechless at first. His training was top-notch, though, and so he quickly snapped out of it. Pressing the ship's comm button he spoke with a new sense of confidence, “Crew to stations, we've been ordered to the Caestus transit. Possible hostile interception.”

December 7th, 83AS
The SSV Broadsword and her sister ship SSV Sabre arrived at the Caestus Jump Point. No hostile contacts had been detected by any of the active sensors in the Sol System since the initial energy burst from the alien jump engine. The SSV Apogee was already in the area, and as it was the only ship with a jump engine, Captain Taji ordered the vessel to transit into Caestus.

January 3rd, 84AS
A scan of the Caestus System revealed no alien presence, leading Alliance Command unsure of where the aliens had gone. There was some hope that the energy burst was a glitch, or maybe a smuggler but most knew that there was only one possibility: aliens had indeed visited Sol. Whether they are hostile is yet to be seen, but the search for them will be called off for now. The SSV Broadsword and SSV Sabre will remain at the Caestus Jump Point for the time being.

January 18th, 84AS
The engineers working the ruins on Europa were able to fully reactivate a research facility. The facility is now being updated to modern standard as well as having a number of the less Human-friendly systems removed. They also found 5400 tons of Duranium in the wreck of a freighter nearby.

February 15th, 84AS
Heavy Metals Exo-Mining of China has prototyped a new mobile mining platform. The platform is able to extract minerals from asteroids without the need for a colony of base of operations. The Alliance Navy has expressed interest in purchasing at least one of these asteroid miners in order to exploit mineral wealth that is not necessarily worth mining through conventional methods.

March 25th, 84AS
A second research facility has been found and restored on Europa. The first facility has already helped the scientists working on the ruins to understand more about the aliens that once lived there.

April 4th, 84AS
A deposit of Duranium has been found on the 6th moon of Sharblu in the Hydra System. Initial scans indicate the planet has over 127 million tons of the mineral buried deep below its surface. It will be difficult to access the minerals, but the size of the deposit makes it an astounding discovery.

April 29th, 84AS
A total of 22 automated mining complexes have been transferred to Childress by ExSolar Shipping. The company has also been contracted to move a number of manufacturing facilities to the future colony site.

July 10th, 84AS
Baria Frontiers has reported that the MSV Leif Ericson has completed the gravitational survey of the Hercules System. The system is a dead end, with no jump point leading away from Sol.

July 15th, 84AS
Baria Frontiers has completed refitting the MSV Thor Heyerdahl to the new Explorer variant. The ship will now head to through the Columbia System to survey the Antaeus System.

July 20th, 84AS
The MSV Amethyst finished refit to the Discovery-II variant. The Amethyst was the final Discovery class ship in Baria Frontiers' fleet to be updated. The ship will now head the Hercules System to perform a planetary survey.

August 15th, 84AS
The final two Napoleon class Gravitational Survey Vessels have finished being refit to the Explorer variant. Baria Frontiers has announced plans to expand its fleet of both gravitational and geological survey ships in anticipation of the Alliance opening the next series of jump points for exploration. The Alliance has stated it currently has no plans to continue exploration until all know systems have been fully mapped.

August 20th, 84AS
The Alliance has finished quietly updating their newest ships. The Gettysburg class Frigates and Broadsword class Cruisers have both been refit to their respective Flight 1 variants. The refits were not announced to the public in an attempt to shield the Alliance from questions about why they would launch military vessels that used technologies and components considered out of date.

August 21st, 84AS
An orbital survey of the gas giant Flett in the Malgus System has revealed large amounts of gaseous Sorium in its atmosphere. A probe released by the MSV Sapphire confirmed the measurements and estimated that upwards of 45 million tons of the mineral could be extracted from the planet.

August 26th, 84AS
Almost 6 million tons of easily accessible(0.9) Duranium has been found on the 15th moon of the gas giant Flett in the Malgus System. The moon is uninhabitable but automated mines could be moved there to exploit the planet's mineral wealth.

September 16th, 84AS
A team of researchers led by Brooks Rupar were able to isolate and negate background noise from friendly sources, thus allowing planetary sensor stations to detect potential hostile ships from a greater distance. Their findings were immediately applied to the Alliance's numerous Deep Space Tracking Stations.(Planetary Sensor Strength 550)

September 23rd, 84AS
The last of the Epsilon ships have been refit to the new Flight 1 variant. The Alliance Parliament has also voted to begin using new naming conventions for all Littoral-Combat Ships. The ships will now be named after notable British leaders. The SSV Beagle and SSV Whippet will be the only two current Epsilons to be renamed. The SSV Beagle is now the SSV James Callaghan and the SSV Whippet is now named the SSV Neville Chamberlain. These changes are being celebrated all across Europe.
The Alliance News Network also announced a new private shipping line hoping to strike it rich. Kowalewski Transport Limited has been incorporated by a group of civilian captains from Poland, and received a loan from the Alliance for nearly 2 million credits(2000 wealth).

October 24th, 84AS
An expansion of the maintenance facilities on Mars will now allow it to service Frigates and Littoral-Combat Ships.

November 15th, 84AS
The gravitational survey of the Macedon System has been completed by the MSV Yuri Gagarin. The system has a total of 7 jump points leading away from Sol. The extreme number of transit points has led the Alliance to think about placing a listening post in the system to monitor for traffic.

November 30th, 84AS
An orbital scan of the planet Ontarom in the Newton System have revealed easily accessible deposits of 7.4 million tons of Duranium(1.0), 6.9 million tons of Tritanium(1.0), 1.8 million tons of Mercassium(0.8) and 5.8 million tons of Sorium(0.8).

December 5th, 84AS
The MSV Victoria has been completed at the F. Schihau G.m.b.H Orbital Shipyard above Earth. The ship will is the second on the new Whistler Freighters and is set to begin shipping installations to Childress immediately. The two remaining Aspen Freighters will be scrapped and their parts used to construct more modern ships.

December 22nd, 84AS
The MSV Wayne, another Whistler Freighter, has been built above Earth at the F. Schihau G.m.b.H Orbital Shipyard. The Wayne will be used to transport infrastructure and installations to Europa while her sister ships make the long trek to Childress.

January 2nd, 85AS
Engineers of Europa have found another tank loaded will fuel. 8.25 million liters have been added to the planet's reserves.

There will be another 5 years worth by the 15th. I've been too busy the past few weeks to get much playing done but after this weekend I've got a decently long break from work.
