Halo Alternative Universe - Background

In the year 2075 the Unified Earth Government was created, at this time it was but a mere body of the United Nations and not in any real position of power, this would change in just under one hundred years.  By the year 2170 Earth was in disarray as hunger and resource shortages lead to rioting and massive famines lead to deaths and at this point the treaty of Bordeaux was signed and this brought with it a new and emboldened Unified Earth Government that now had real power as populations rose behind it, seeing a sense of Earth Nationalism, the government brought great reform and once the major issues of the time were either corrected or being managed properly, the government looked towards the stars and began immediate preparations for large scale expansion of the recently created UNSC (United Nations Space Command), this entity was not only the military arm but the now scientific and oversaw colonisation efforts.

"For too many years, humanity was fighting for resources, fighting each other, rather than uniting together. Now we have united, now we can see that our petty squabbles will lead nowhere, no more shall humanity allow this to occur. Humanity is no longer fractured, we are united!" - President John Lasky

Now with the brave words spoken by the president, the UNSC on the year 2170 launched the fleets of Earth outwards to claim the stars and to do better then they had on earth, for this was their time and humanity would prevail no matter the cost.



Campaign Notes: This campaign is primarily a test campaign as V1.3 is somewhat unstable at times so if things seem off or stuff has been changed that is probably the reason, this campaign is also a test for me as it will help me learn how to better write AARs as this will be my first one, am drawing a lot of inspiration from steve in general format but just changing a few things around, I hope you enjoy it as much as I will.

For the story, I am going off halo lore but at the year 2170 it diverges from Halos timeline and instead is my own, this is the starting point of the AAR, all the Ships and Ground units are based either off actual units in halo or "Older" designs (My designs and names) which is based off the fact this AAR takes place around 300 years before the Human-Covenant war, in lore humanity only found aliens relatively late, in this however anything can happen and action will be taking place pretty quickly.

For the game starting conditions I will list them below:
-Research Points are around 2-3x a normal population of one billion
-Everything is based off a population of one billion besides those things listed here.
-Starting build points are about 4x that of normal
-Ship Design is based off halo and as such it is not perfect so do not comment on things that could help improve it, the UEG will improve its designs when they face new aliens, also C# is relatively new to me as it came out three days ago as such I do not have a great amount of game knowledge.
-Research is 80% slower than normal to allow more time to pass and the scale to be more akin to the UNSC, such as reaching 2552 etc.

Replacement Weapons:
-Particle Lances = MAC
-Coilguns such as the M302 = Railguns
-Point defence cannons = Gauss



United Nations Space Command Ship Designs

The Strideworth class light corvette is an old design as it dates back to nearly two decades before the unification of Earth, back then it was used as a superiority corvette designed to gain supremacy of the orbit around earth but now it is used primarily in a defensive role as a quick and cheap option to keep outer colonies and worlds secure as well as provide general security, earth has four of them in orbit at any point, formed up into defence squadrons they pack a punch capable of firing their High-Velocity coilgun at extreme speeds and hitting targets going at extreme speeds in due thanks to being linked with newly refitted targeting systems.

The Picket class corvette Orca is a ship primarily developed for the purpose of escort duty for bigger vessels, made to function in squadrons of up to eight these are relatively small vessels but they are able to pack a heavy punch, containing four medium point defence cannons capable of putting twenty four rounds of medium flak ordinance into the space around it every five seconds, as well as the M302 Rattle Naval Coilgun, this weapon system is a significantly scaled down frigate MAC and is used primarily for ship-ship combat at close range or in its second use as a orbital bombardment weapon, overall the Orca class picket corvette fits ideally into a support role and they are not often seen far away from a group of cruisers or frigates.

The Manta is based on the hull of the Orca but removes 33% of the armour and 50% of the weapon systems in exchange for the newly developed trans-light engine that is capable of propelling it and its squadron light years away from its current location.

The Pike class destroyer is a relatively modern design that has an impressive array of weapons for a ship 75% the size of the mainline frigates, its armament contains a twin-linked MAC, on the top barrel it has a standard MAC, on the under barrel it contains a fast firing coil gun that allows it to keep up fire from its MAC battery every twenty fire seconds dealing heavy damage and it is estimated that a squadron of pike class destroyers can disable a UNSC Carrier in minutes.  It also features a standard marine complement for a ship of this size of twenty six marines lead by a lieutenant, as well as an advanced sensor and fire control suite capable of shooting missiles down at over 16,000 km/s and detecting missiles at just under ten million kilometres.

The Pole class destroyer is based on the pikes hull and replaces much of its weapons arsenal such as the twin-linked MAC in exchange for a standard MAC, it also gets rid of two of its point defence turrets and 25% of its armour in favour of a trans-light engine.

The Bordeaux class frigate is the primary mainline frigate, it is capable of providing heavy fire support with its MAC as well as its eight point defence turrets, two heavy point defence cannons and six normal point defence cannons, it also features a complement of ninety marines .

The Falcon class replaces much of the turrets for five M12 Defiance missile pods (1 Pod = 5 missile launchers) which allow it to provide mass swarm missile support from the sidelines in conjunction with its MAC,  it also has enough missiles for six salvos of missiles on its own and an advanced targeting system capable of firing missiles at up to 53mkm, while it has turrets they are 50% less than the bordeaux meaning it relies on other ships to provide PD against heavier salvos of enemy missiles.

The Chitin Class Frigate is based on the hull of the Bordeaux but reduces the armour belt by 25% and the point defence cannons by 50% in exchange it receives a frigate sized translight engine which is extremely important to the operations of the UNSC Navy.

A lighter and unarmed version of the Bordeaux, it fits an efficient engine as well as geological and gravitational sensors, as well as a slipspace drive, these ships are slated to operate on their own for up to four years at a time, they are not expected to engage in combat or fight off any enemy they cannot escape, it also carries a transport capacity of three hundred tons and as such allows it to disperse either a platoon of marines or scientists down to a planet.

The UNSC Sigma class strike carrier is the pride of the Navy, it features two MACs capable of ripping entire capital ships apart in a single strike, its point defence is considerable featuring sixteen point defence cannons arrayed on the ships hull these cannons are capable ninety-six rounds every five seconds against any incoming missile strike, but the primary offensive feature of the Sigma Class is the hangers deck located on the sides of the carrier capable of holding its strike group of Eight GA-T1 Rapiers and Four D22-TC Ravens, it also carries three companies of marines for a total of 270 marines.

The Endurance class Heavy Cruiser is the second most important ship in the UNSC Navy, it features the heaviest armour belt as well as the best point defence systems and weapons in the entire fleet, its primary role is that of protecting the sigma class strike carrier, capable of putting out over 150 rounds of flak into enemy missiles, estimated to be able to destroy thirty eight missiles every five seconds, it also features the M5 Valiance missiles pods of which it has six of these pods (1 pod = 5 launchers) and this allows it to fire sixty missiles every ten seconds at any opposing ship with over twelve salvos of these missiles that it can fire on its own. it also features a standard compliment of marines for this size which is three companies and a Raven class troop carrier for boarding and deployment options.

UNSC Small Craft
The GA-T1 Rapier is the mainstay of the carrier air group, containing within it two Anti Ship Guided Missile MKI pods (ASGM-1) that allows it to provide the final killing blow to enemy capital ships, it also features two M4103 25mm coilguns capable of tracking extremely fast targets and consistently engaging them, these fighters work in squadrons of four and provide the offensive abilities of the carrier group.

Ground Forces
The UEG features two branches within the area of ground combat, one is led by the UNA (United Nations Army) which handles planetary ground defense, occupation and general control of heavier weapons such as artillery and anti aircraft emplacements and vehicles, the second is the UNMC (United Nations Marine Core) which handles the defence of UNSC space ships as well as boarding and space bound assaults against foreign entities, they are usually better equipped and are capable of fighting as such, but are in much lower numbers and more costly to train.

The Current UEG Armed forces are formed by the regiment, with two UNA regiments, the "1st" and "2nd" regiment respectively they form the main bulk of man power, while the UNMC holds a singular regiment, the UNA regiments are made up of three Infantry Battalions these then go to the company level, total each regiment consists of just over one thousand personnel and are supported by the combined arms battalion arm which consists of three of these CABs, that are the primary UNSC tank and mechanised force, the UNMC Regiment in comparison consists of four battalion and each of those consistent of three rifle companies and one weapons company.

These are the current force of the UEG, they are expected to be expanded as some of them are low on numbers or need to be bolstered to deal with coming threats, as the strife in previous decades means that this is all that is left of the UEGs military ground forces.

Commercial Sector of the UEG
The UEG utilised and employs many private citizens to further its goals where the UNSC cannot and as such ships have been designed by the government and then contracted out to be manned and utilised by private companies and civilian crews, below is the list of current active serving commercial vessels
