On the one hand, this is a major escalation, on the other hand, if there are hostile forces out in space, somebody might be ready to stop them.

I agree. It must be said that, currently, the only power capable of arming itself properly through the massive amount of research labs is the EAC, which is busy keeping its subjects happy at the moment. In the rush, AD did not research Damage Control yet but still decided to start production. In terms of naval output, UTF can complete ships much faster than them, so time is of the essence. On the other hand, UTF has not completed any magazine research; therefore, operating close to Earth is paramount for their Navy.

The only thing these ships will stop is their crews from seeing retirement. I adore them, they're so fricking jank while still being functional that I can't help but love them.

The magic of RP and RNG stories!  ;D  ;D  ;D

With a no-energy weapons treaty in place, the only possible designs are missiles and Gauss. I believe both AD and UTF have squandered valuable RP and BP—not to mention the minerals (Gallicite in particular) and the fuel. But hey, they get the job done: orbiting Earth.  8)

2047: The Fallout of Rapid Military Expansion.

In the vastness of the solar system, a catastrophic economic downturn struck the heart of the United Terran Federation (UTF), its roots entwined with the ambitious rush to build a formidable naval fleet. The collapse of Trans-Newtonian resource production and trade, a consequence of this hasty endeavor, sent shockwaves through the interconnected web of neighboring powers, particularly the Asian Dominion (AD) and the Euro-African Coalition (EAC). The economic ties that once fueled prosperity now threatened to destabilize the entire region.

Emergency meetings echoed through the halls of power, as leaders grappled not only with the economic crisis but also with the repercussions of their swift naval expansion. The UTF, facing the looming specter of economic collapse, sought aid to stabilize its crumbling economy. In response, the Asian Dominion and Euro-African Coalition recognized the potential for regional instability and decided to extend a helping hand.

Diplomats engaged in high-stakes discussions, negotiating aid packages and laying the groundwork for a collaborative effort to prevent further turmoil. The UTF, burdened by the weight of austerity measures and the consequences of its naval rush, welcomed the assistance with gratitude but harbored internal concerns about the long-term recovery of its economy.

As the financial lifelines were thrown to the UTF, the perceptions of the involved powers underwent a significant shift.

The Asian Dominion, viewed as making a strategic move to maintain regional stability, found its influence on the rise. The economic aid served as a foundation for increased collaborations, strengthening the AD's foothold in the solar system.

The Euro-African Coalition, acknowledged for its contribution to stability and understanding the pitfalls of rushing military expansion, saw the potential for strengthened alliances. The EAC's reputation as a reliable partner in times of crisis, coupled with its cautious approach to military buildups, paved the way for further diplomatic cooperation and economic ties.

Outside observers, like the Observers' Alliance (OA), watched cautiously. Concerns about the broader economic impact and the pitfalls of hurried military ambitions lingered, prompting the OA to carefully assess the unfolding situation.

Meanwhile, the Solarian Unity (SAU) expressed apprehension about potential regional instability and economic downturn, underscoring the dangers of unchecked militarization. The specter of an unstable neighboring power, driven by an ill-conceived rush to build a naval fleet, cast shadows of uncertainty over the SAU's future.

As the economic crisis unfolded across the solar system, the South American Union (SAU) and the Oceanic Alliance (OA), also seized the opportunity to fortify their positions through collaboration. Recognizing the potential for mutual benefit and stability, the SAU and OA entered into diplomatic talks to establish a joint economic zone.

Negotiations were thorough, covering trade agreements, resource sharing, and the development of shared infrastructure. Both powers, eager to enhance economic prosperity and strengthen their geopolitical standing, saw this collaboration as a promising venture.

The talks proved successful, and the SAU and OA officially established a joint economic zone. This landmark decision led to increased economic cooperation, resource sharing, and joint ventures, creating a foundation for growth and stability.

In the aftermath of the crisis, all powers adjusted their goals and strategies.

The UTF, determined to avoid dependency on external aid and learning from its mistakes, prioritized economic recovery and set its sights on diversifying trade partners. The painful experience prompted a strategic rethink, and the UTF aimed to rebuild its economic capacity from the ground up while adopting a more measured approach to military development.

The Asian Dominion sought to strengthen its regional influence through increased economic collaborations, leveraging the stability it provided to the UTF. The EAC, having played a key role in stabilizing the region and cognizant of the dangers of rushed military endeavors, focused on consolidating diplomatic and economic ties.

The Oceanic Alliance, now with a stronger economic foothold, earned a positive perception. The SAU, having solidified its regional standing through collaboration, experienced a boost in economic stability and geopolitical influence.

While no immediate changes were made to existing treaties, a new economic alliance was formed between the SAU and OA, promoting trade and economic cooperation. The AD, observing the situation cautiously, maintained its existing treaties but kept a close eye on the evolving economic dynamics.

Wow, no wonder their economy fell apart, the UTF built a full fleet from scratch rather than going for a slow buildup. It's not like they need all those ships right now, so it would have been way smarter to build one ship a year or something. Especially with those designs lol.

2048: The Battle for Power Beyond Earth.

In the vast expanse of space, where the moons of distant planets became the battlegrounds for power and dominance, Io found itself at the centre of a brewing conflict between the Asian Dominion (AD) and the South American Union (SAU). Economic disparities and territorial disputes had fuelled tensions, culminating in border skirmishes that threatened to plunge the entire region into chaos.

Sensing the impending danger, the Asian Dominion made a calculated move. Leveraging the aid provided during the United Terran Federation (UTF) financial crisis, they called upon the powerful alliance to mediate and prevent the conflict from escalating into a full-scale war. The UTF, bound by the weight of their debt to the AD, reluctantly agreed to step into the diplomatic arena.

As the UTF entered the fray, the SAU, recognizing the potential consequences of facing the mighty alliance, chose a strategic retreat. Their forces withdrew from Io, avoiding a direct military confrontation with the Asian Dominion, which took over the whole mining operations. The threat of a wider conflict diminished, but the tensions lingered in the cold silence of space.

In light of the outcome, the Trans-Newtonian Arms Control Treaty (TACT) felt the strain, as military tensions highlighted the limitations of such agreements. Factions reevaluated their commitments to arms control measures, with a renewed focus on the perceived effectiveness of the treaty in the face of evolving geopolitical landscapes.

Eventually, as the diplomatic negotiations between the Asian Dominion (AD) and the United Terran Federation (UTF) were underway, a shadowy incident cast a dark cloud over the proceedings. A covert operation within the UTF, designed to protect classified military technologies, went awry. The result was a leak of sensitive information to the Asian Dominion, igniting a major diplomatic and security crisis that reverberated through the cosmos.

The leaked information included advanced missile systems, a cornerstone of the UTF's defence strategy. The revelation not only angered the leaders of the United Terran Federation but also raised questions about the integrity of their intelligence operations. The diplomatic dance on Io suddenly became more complex, as accusations and denials flew between the UTF and AD.

In response to the intelligence leak, the UTF demanded a thorough investigation into the breach of national security. The Asian Dominion, caught in the crossfire, vehemently denied any involvement, attributing the incident to rogue elements engaged in espionage. The stage was set for a tense stand-off, with mistrust escalating between the two powers, casting a shadow over the negotiation table.

The perception update for all powers was significant. The United Terran Federation suffered a severe blow, with its reputation tarnished by the breach of classified information. The Asian Dominion, although denying any involvement, faced slight damage to its perception, with the potential gains in military technology overshadowed by the diplomatic fallout. Other powers in the region began to express heightened concerns about the reliability of intelligence-sharing, raising questions about the stability of the entire region.

With the adjusted goals, the UTF shifted its focus to prioritizing internal security measures and rebuilding trust in its intelligence operations. The Asian Dominion, in contrast, covertly sought to benefit from the leaked technologies while maintaining a public stance of denial, downplaying the incident for diplomatic reasons.

Adjusted strategies came into play as the UTF concentrated on strengthening counter-intelligence efforts and diplomatic measures to contain the fallout. The Asian Dominion adopted a cautious approach in public statements, carefully navigating the delicate diplomatic terrain while quietly exploring the potential military advantages gained from the leaked technologies.

The fallout from the intelligence leak extended to treaties and restrictions. The Non-Aggression and Scientific Collaboration Treaty (NASC) between the UTF and AD faced strains, with the UTF considering reassessment based on the breach of trust. Future collaborations and information-sharing agreements hung in the balance, with the potential for a significant impact on the delicate balance of power in the region. As the negotiations on Io continued, the stakes were higher than ever, with the spectre of the intelligence leak looming over the proceedings.

The echoes of the conflict on Io would resonate across the cosmos, shaping the future of interstellar relations and the delicate dance of power among the stars.

Perception Update for All Powers:
Asian Dominion (AD): Perception improved due to successfully leveraging the UTF's debt to secure its interests without direct military conflict with potential gains in military technology.
South American Union (SAU): Perception damaged, but avoids a full-scale conflict, potentially leaving room for future diplomatic resolutions.
United Terran Federation (UTF): Perception slightly damaged due to being pressured into mediating, but potential for improved relations with the AD, and significantly damaged, as the leak is seen as a breach of national security.

Adjusted Goals:
AD: Maintains the goal of resolving territorial and economic disputes but emphasizes diplomatic solutions. May covertly benefit from the leaked technologies while publicly denying any involvement. Seeks to downplay the incident for diplomatic reasons.
SAU: Shifts focus to peaceful resolutions and economic stability.
UTF: May reevaluate diplomatic and military strategies, considering the potential implications of their debt to the AD. Prioritizes enhancing internal security measures and rebuilding trust in intelligence operations.

Adjusted Strategies:
AD: Continues diplomatic efforts, potentially exploring economic cooperation with the SAU. Adopts a cautious approach in public statements while exploring the potential military advantages gained from the leaked technologies.
SAU: Emphasizes diplomatic initiatives and explores economic cooperation to avoid future conflicts.
UTF: May reconsider military and diplomatic strategies to avoid being heavily influenced by debts in the future. Focuses on strengthening counter-intelligence and diplomatic efforts to contain the fallout.

Adjusted Treaties or Restrictions:

Trans-Newtonian Arms Control Treaty (TACT):
The Trans-Newtonian Arms Control Treaty (TACT) is strained, as military tensions highlight the potential limitations of such agreements. Factions are cancelling their commitments to arms control measures based on the perceived ineffectiveness of the treaty.

Non-Aggression and Scientific Collaboration Treaty (NASC):
The Non-Aggression and Scientific Collaboration Treaty (NASC) between the solar powers is facing strains, with the UTF considering reassessment based on the intelligence leak, and the AD contemplating a revision following the Io affair. All powers have unanimously agreed to prohibit aggressive military actions only on Earth and its orbit, effective from the year 2050.

2049: Crafting the Future Beyond Sol.

In the heart of the Sol system, a tense political drama unfolded as the Euro-African Coalition (EAC) and the South American Union (SAU) clashed over the allocation of vital Trans-Newtonian resources scattered across contested planets and moons. The stakes were high, and the fate of these coveted resources hung in the balance.

The EAC and SAU both laid claim to the territories, each invoking historical rights supported by past agreements and geological surveys. The negotiations quickly escalated into a battle of words, with diplomats from both factions engaging in marathon debates and heated discussions. The media closely monitored every twist and turn of the unfolding drama, capturing the public's attention and raising concerns about the potential fallout.

As the political event gained momentum, internal pressures within the EAC and SAU began to intensify. Various factions within each alliance lobbied fiercely for their preferred outcomes, adding a layer of complexity to an already intricate negotiation process.

The tension reached its zenith as representatives from the EAC and SAU faced off across the negotiating table. The fate of entire economies and the geopolitical landscape of the Sol system hinged on the resolution of these critical talks.

After weeks of arduous negotiations, sleepless nights, and countless rounds of discussions, a breakthrough emerged. Both alliances, recognizing the need for compromise, reached a historic agreement on the allocation of Trans-Newtonian resources. The new accord outlined clear terms for resource extraction and sharing, defusing immediate tensions and averting the spectre of conflict over the disputed territories.

The world watched with bated breath as the leaders of the EAC and SAU announced the successful resolution of the crisis. The compromise only delayed a potential war with the negotiations testing the resilience of both alliances, but in the end, diplomacy prevailed.

With a clear balance of power established, the SAU aligned even further with the OA’s view of the Sol system's dynamics. In the dimly lit chambers of secret diplomatic meetings, high-ranking officials from the Oceanic Alliance (OA) and the South American Union (SAU) gathered, united by this shared concern for the future of the Sol system. Faced with escalating security threats, resource scarcity, and a collective desire for peaceful expansion, these leaders embarked on a groundbreaking initiative: a comprehensive exchange of technologies.

Behind closed doors, agreements were forged, and a new era of collaboration between OA and SAU began. The exchange encompassed the full spectrum of scientific advancements, sparking excitement among scientists and researchers on both sides. Together, they set out to push the boundaries of knowledge, focusing on advanced propulsion systems and terraforming technologies crucial for the journey beyond the confines of the Sol system.

As the news of this unprecedented collaboration trickled out, the global community watched with a mix of scepticism and intrigue. Doubts lingered, but a prevailing sense of hope emerged as OA and SAU emphasized the importance of unity in the face of the unknown.

With a common goal in mind, the scientists and engineers of OA and SAU worked tirelessly, pooling their collective expertise to design a technology capable of long-distance travel and sustainable colonization. The fruits of their labor materialized in sleek, advanced engines that promised to carry humanity into uncharted territories.

The turning point came when leaders from OA and SAU unveiled their ambitious plan to not merely explore, but to leave the Sol system entirely. Colonization of distant planets and moons became the shared dream of these two alliances, igniting a sense of wonder and excitement among their citizens.

Perception Update for All Powers:
EAC: Perceived as diplomatically adept but facing internal scrutiny for concessions made during negotiations. Mixed reactions, ranging from concern over potential power shifts to curiosity about the implications of leaving the Sol system.
SAU: Internal factions may express dissatisfaction, but the compromise is generally viewed as a diplomatic success. Gains respect and admiration for their visionary collaboration with OA.
OA: Gains respect and admiration for their visionary collaboration with SAU.
AD: Mixed reactions, ranging from concern over potential power shifts to curiosity about the implications of leaving the Sol system.
UTF: Concerns about potential power vacuums in the Sol system and the implications for existing treaties.

You have 2 ways:

1 - SM like you said
2 - Research sharing agreement through Diplomacy

With 2, if you want to share past discoveries, you must SM them, which is what I did.

Wow, no wonder their economy fell apart, the UTF built a full fleet from scratch rather than going for a slow buildup. It's not like they need all those ships right now, so it would have been way smarter to build one ship a year or something. Especially with those designs lol.

Ideally yes, pity I am not in charge  ;D

The rationale was the need to flex muscles and amend with fast build the overall lesser naval capacity than the AD.

Sorry for the late answer, it escaped my sight.

2050: The Birth of the Southern Oceanic Alliance.

Amidst the grandeur of a joint press conference, leaders from the South American Union (SAU) and the Oceanic Alliance (OA) stood side by side, their faces reflecting determination and hope. The momentous decision to merge and form a unified power, the Southern Oceanic Alliance (SOA), was about to reshape the course of history.

The announcement sent ripples across the globe, capturing the attention of citizens from both continents. The news, filled with promises of collaboration, unity, and a shared vision for the future, resonated deeply. The merger, a response to the challenges and opportunities that lay beyond the familiar territories of Earth, was seen as a bold move towards a new era of exploration and colonization.

The integration process was both intricate and exhaustive. Governance structures were melded into a harmonious blend, economies were intertwined, and military assets were strategically consolidated. A joint headquarters, a symbol of shared leadership, was established to oversee the new alliance's affairs.

Leaders from both sides worked tirelessly, overcoming challenges and differences that naturally arose during such a transformative process. The citizens of the SAU and OA, now unified under the banner of the SOA, celebrated their newfound alliance with a collective sense of pride. Flags bearing the emblem of the Southern Oceanic Alliance fluttered in the wind, symbolizing the amalgamation of two continents under a singular purpose.

The Southern Oceanic Alliance quickly became a hub of collaboration. Joint research projects flourished, cultural exchanges enriched the diversity of the newly formed entity, and military cooperation showcased the combined might of the SAU and OA. The people, once separated by vast oceans and cultural nuances, found common ground as they embarked on a shared journey toward the stars.

The outcomes were far-reaching and awe-inspiring. The Southern Oceanic Alliance emerged as a formidable force, pooling together the vast resources and capabilities of Japan, South America, and Oceania. Their focus was clear – space exploration and colonization. The SOA spared no effort in pushing the boundaries of human achievement, launching ambitious missions beyond the confines of the Sol system.

As spacecraft bearing the insignia of the Southern Oceanic Alliance soared into the cosmos, the people watched with bated breath. The merging of two great powers had birthed a collective dream that transcended borders and oceans. The Southern Oceanic Alliance, forged in unity, stood poised to make history as they ventured into the vast unknown, carrying the aspirations of a united Earth with them.

Easier micro, but one faction is absolutely in the lead now. This is probably the biggest change up of the game. Even the beginnings of military buildup are not as important as this.

SOA is a powerhouse now, they have the pop advantage which will be major in the short run. They paid due though considering both factions had major maluses in the traits, some of which have been carried especially in the production area. The biggest challenge for all powers now is where to expand and how fast. Some have already made plans, while others are still on the fence. I am in the year 2055 currently going to 2056 and the story is warming up. 2050 was a turning point, many things are going to be put in motion because of this event.

I am pacing the updates as it takes longer and longer to go through the years and I want to have a safe cushion built for the few days I may want to play something else entirely or do different things.

2051: Guardians of the Celestial Alliance.

Tensions brewed among the great powers of Earth when the Euro-African Coalition (EAC) announced an unprecedented military build-up, shrouded in the rhetoric of protecting its interests in the uncharted realms of space exploration and technological innovation. As the engines of war roared to life, concern and scepticism echoed through the interstellar corridors.

The Asian Dominion (AD) and the Southern Oceanic Alliance (SOA) were quick to express their apprehensions. The EAC's military expansion, they argued, held the potential to tip the delicate balance that had maintained an uneasy peace among the superpowers for decades. Fearing a ripple effect that could unsettle the tranquillity of their regions, the AD and SOA called for immediate diplomatic discourse.

Amidst the cosmic uncertainty, the EAC surprised the world with a bold proposal: the establishment of a Joint Security Council. This council, the EAC explained, would serve as a platform for collaboration between the major powers, fostering mutual understanding and cooperation to address the evolving challenges of the cosmos.

As emissaries and diplomats shuttled between planets to engage in discussions, the three powers found themselves at a critical juncture. The AD and SOA, while sceptical of the EAC's motives, recognized the necessity of collective security measures in the face of the unknown threats that lurked beyond their celestial borders.

Negotiations were intense and prolonged, with each power staunchly defending its interests. The EAC emphasized the imperative of protecting the advancements made in space exploration, arguing that a strong defence was paramount for the continued progress of humankind. The AD and SOA, meanwhile, sought assurances that the military build-up was not a prelude to aggression or domination.

After weeks of deliberations, the diplomats emerged from their celestial chambers with a historic agreement. The Joint Security Council was born, a testament to the shared responsibility of the major powers in safeguarding the interests of Earth's inhabitants.

Under the terms of the agreement, the EAC, AD, and SOA pledged to collaborate on intelligence-sharing, establish early warning systems to detect potential threats and engage in joint military exercises to enhance their collective defence capabilities. The EAC's military build-up, while continuing, transformed the narrative. It became a symbol of the united front forged by the major powers, a deterrent against any external forces that dared to disrupt the harmony of the cosmos.

As the Guardians of the Celestial Alliance stood shoulder to shoulder, their collective gaze turned towards the unexplored frontiers of space. The once-feared military build-up now served as a beacon of hope, a testament to the power of diplomacy and collaboration in the face of an ever-expanding universe.

The announcement of the Joint Security Council and the military build-up by the Euro-African Coalition (EAC) sends shock waves through the halls of the United Terran Federation (UTF). The UTF President, flanked by numerous top advisors, addresses the nation in a televised speech.

“BREAKING NEWS: PRESIDENT'S SPEECH ON THE NEW SECURITY COUNCIL”                                                          “BREAKING NEWS: PRESIDENT'S SPEECH ON THE NEW SECURITY COUNCIL”
Quote
"Fellow citizens of the United Terran Federation,

today we face a shifting landscape in our pursuit of peace and stability. The recent developments, notably the establishment of the Joint Security Council and the significant military build-up by our Neighbors, the Euro-African Coalition, require us to carefully consider our position in the interstellar community.

We have always been proponents of dialogue and cooperation. Our exclusion from the Joint Security Council raises questions about the inclusivity of regional security efforts. We seek understanding and reassurance that the pursuit of peace is a shared goal.
Our commitment to a defensive military posture remains unwavering.

We will continue to invest in technology, research, and development to ensure the security of our citizens and the protection of our interests. However, let it be known that our focus is on defence, not aggression.
Our doors are open to diplomatic discourse.

We believe that through open dialogue, we can build bridges of understanding and work towards shared goals. Let us not allow misunderstandings to sow seeds of discord when cooperation can lead us to a brighter future."

As the citizens absorb the news, the UTF government swiftly initiates a comprehensive review of its stance over multiple matters.

Firstly, the UTF issued formal inquiries to the Joint Security Council, seeking clarification on the reasons behind their exclusion. The President underscored the Federation's unwavering commitment to regional stability and emphasized the importance of inclusivity in matters of collective security.

Simultaneously, the UTF initiated a series of military readiness exercises along its borders. In a dazzling display of defensive prowess, the Federation showcased its formidable capabilities. It was a clear message to the galaxy — the UTF desired peace, but it was equally prepared to safeguard its interests and territories.

As the rumble of military exercises reverberated through the cosmic expanse, the UTF took another bold step. Invitations were extended to all neighbouring powers for high-level diplomatic talks. These talks aimed not only to foster understanding but also to address concerns and explore alternative avenues for collaboration outside the confines of the Joint Security Council.

Also pretty funny how the EAC forgot that escort frigates should not be the slowest ships in the navy lol. Ahh well, I don't think any of the nations really designed their ships for a proper war, they're mostly for show at this point. Hopefully they don't need to use them to fight neighbours or worse!

Yes, each power is a different race entirely as it allows to modify their racial traits independently. So you have Humans Pacific, Humans Asian, and so on.

At the moment, there's an arms race underway, so yes, it's all about building up muscles. As time passes, each power's military navy is becoming more defined. It's interesting to note that nobody has properly upgraded their ground forces yet, as the RP does not require it. Powers still seem to believe that wars will primarily occur in space or on inhabited, mostly barren alien landmasses. We all know they couldn't be more wrong, but we are superior beings. ;D ;D ;D

Just to spoil the fun, nobody has STO as well, because what's the point, right? 8)

FULL DISCLOSURE: Text and RNG events are managed by my personal AI, AuroraGPT. I actively engage in questioning AuroraGPT, seeking clarification on various events and their implications and also prompt in manually my events based on the game ones. This process involves more than a quick three-second command and a copy-paste; considerable effort is invested while simultaneously playing the game and controlling all races, including humans and, if applicable, aliens. As spoilers, only Raiders and Precursors are currently active, and there may or may not be swarms introduced at some point via SM.
