The Duranium Curtain
« on: June 10, 2021, 11:51:46 AM »
1945

The Soviet Union begins researching Trans-Newtonian technology, alongside conventional composite armor. The Soviet Union continue to make advances through east Germany

Imperial Japan and the United Kingdom steal assets and the research of Projekt Duranium. They both begin to researching into Trans-Newtonian technology. Japan focusing on Long Range Bombardment weapons, with insights of Projekt Duranium. Japan struggles to train new pilots and soldiers to hold off the Americans. They are going to fight til the bitter end if the Americans arrive in the Land of the Rising Sun.

United Kingdom is researching geosurvey equipment as well as better armor, in hopes of exploring the stars with the prospects of Projekt Duranium. Winston Churchill and Parliament are already drafting up ways to explore the solar system. The German Reich continues where it left off with Projekt Duranium. This is the final and ultimate war for them. A war for existence and survival. The Fuhrer thinks that they can still win. The Allies are coming from east and west are in the heartland of the Reich. The new military commanders of the Reich are proposed. Karl Dönitz shall lead the Kriegsmarine. Wilhelm Keitel shall be the high command of OKW and the Wehrmacht.

April 1945

Soviets complete the research into conventional composite armor. The Soviets have taken over most of Berlin.

April 30th, 1945

The Fuhrer commits suicide. Karl Dönitz is appointed the new Fuhrer.

September 1945

Japan capitulates after two nuclear bombs are dropped. Peace in the Pacific. Meanwhile, in Europe, the SS move into the mountains to make a final stand. The Axis is officially defeated.

1946

An uneventful year.
The Nuremburg Trials are underway. Many NSDAP officials and collaborators are sentenced to death for their war crimes.

March 1947
Aided by Western researchers, Germany finishes the Trans-Newtonian research. They begin converting old and dirty conventional industry into more streamlined TN industry. Old shipyards from the war are converted to house spacecraft. The Germans are divided between a Communist east and a Capitalist west. After finishing the Trans-Newtonian research, Germany sets out to research better reactor tech and fuel efficiency. The German Reich is no more. Meanwhile, Japan is reorganized and are no longer under dictatorial control. The Soviets struggle to complete the Trans-Newtonian Research.

Current German industrial efforts:
Converting 600 CI to TN Industry
Converting 100 CI to TN Mines
Converting 25 CI to Financial Centers
Converting 75 CI to Fuel Refineries
Constructing 5 Research Labs

November 1947
The Soviet Union finishes the Trans-Newtonian research. Inspired by the streamlining industrial efforts in the west, the Soviets begin to modernize their industry. Premier Joseph Stalin orders the construction of new industrial sectors.

Current Soviet industrial efforts
Converting 650 CI to TN industry
Converting 50 CI to TN Mines
Converting 50 CI to Fuel Refineries
Converting 50 CI to Financial Centers.

Meanwhile, Japan and the United Kingdom get closer to completing the Trans-Newtonian Project. Germany announces its first ever space capable vessel to be launched within five years.
Maybe, in the end, this was the best that any warrior could hope for. A chance to reconcile with your enemy, or, failing that, to fall in the pursuit of peace

December 1947
Japan finishes the Trans-Newtonian research. They institute a program to revitalize the industrial sector after the devastation of the 2nd World War.

Current Japanese industrial efforts:
Convert 600 CI to TN Industry
Convert 100 CI to TN Mines
Convert 50 CI to Fuel Refineries
Convert 50 CI to Financial Centres

Japan then focuses on better reactor tech and armor.

West German research into the first generation rocket engine (based off TN research and V8 rocket testing) was completed ahead of schedule. The design for the first ever spacecraft is drafted, dubbed the "Entdecken" by the German scientists.

Code: [Select]
Entdecken class Geosurvey Ship      5,000 tons       72 Crew       426 BP       TCS 100    TH 25    EM 0
250 km/s      Armour 1-26       Shields 0-0       HTK 21      Sensors 0/0/0/3      DCR 2      PPV 0
Maint Life 3.06 Years     MSP 125    AFR 85%    IFR 1.2%    1YR 20    5YR 301    Max Repair 100 MSP
Fregattankapitan    Control Rating 1   BRG
Intended Deployment Time: 24 months    Morale Check Required

GEN1 Commercial Conventional Engine  EP12.5 (2)    Power 25.0    Fuel Use 11.18%    Signature 12.5    Explosion 5%
Fuel Capacity 70,000 Litres    Range 22.5 billion km (1043 days at full power)

Geological Survey Sensors (3)   3 Survey Points Per Hour

This design is classed as a Military Vessel for maintenance purposes
This design is classed as a Survey Ship for auto-assignment purposes

The Entdecken is created as a Generation 1 vessel, with the intention of surveying nearby planetary bodies for more Trans-Newtonian minerals. The German science teams have noted that the hull's armor is bulky. This consideration has lead to scientists beginning to research better hull/armor technology. However, the Bassmann Shipyard is not yet at capacity to construct the Entdecken.

July 1948
After losing much of her colonial holdings across the world, the British Empire finally has completed the Trans-Newtonian research.

Current British industrial efforts:
Convert 600 CI to TN Industry
Convert 100 CI to TN Mines
Convert 50 CI to Fuel Refineries
Convert 50 CI to Financial Centres

December 1948
Many commercial shipyards are expanded to accommodate the TN Infrastructure and modernization. Economists predict that the rate of production and mining will exhaust Earth's natural TN minerals in about 10-20 years. Political leaders of the four TN nations meet in Western Berlin, which the city greatly utilizes the Trans-Newtonian infrastructure and technology to modernize and revitalize the economy.

Clement Attlee proposes to the other TN nations that they should collaborate and work together towards a prosperous future. The Soviets state that the westerners did not aid the Union, so they not aid the west. Japan agrees with the British. The western German diplomat sides with Clement, and the eastern sides with the Soviet.

January 1949
The Soviets surround Berlin and satellite eastern European nations in quick order. Thus the Duranium Curtain is created. The United States and United Kingdom create a doctrine of containment. Meanwhile, in Korea, tensions grow between East and West. The Chinese Civil War closes and the new CCCP comes into power. US and Soviet forces withdraw from Korea in their respective occupied zones, allowing for new leaders to administrate the two Koreas.

West Germany begins research on experimental Railgun cannons.

May 1949
Japan finishes Thermonuclear Engines and begins researching their 1st generation engines for geological surveys. The Soviets are close behind! Meanwhile, Germany is struggling to get the Entdecken produced before their competitors, as they've been focused on expanding the shipyard capacity. However, Germany is the most modernized of all the nations so far, with a total of 54 TN industry, 5 TN Fuel Refineries, and 27 mines. Japan and the Soviet Union are at a close second, while the United Kingdom is falling behind.
Maybe, in the end, this was the best that any warrior could hope for. A chance to reconcile with your enemy, or, failing that, to fall in the pursuit of peace

May 25th 1949
The Soviet Union finishes the Thermonuclear technology. The Red Army begins researching missile technology such as magazine neutralization systems. Western spies that have infiltrated the USSR report to the western allies of the USSR's recent developments. Japan begins to design and develop their improved version of the Entdecken-class, the Kawa-class! The key difference between the two vessels, noted by journalists and experts, was the engine technology used and the deployment time of the crew. The Entdecken uses conventional engines while the Kawa uses thermonuclear engines.

The Kawa will be on her voyage for only one year (due to the restrictions placed by the treaty after WW2), in contrast to the Entdecken will be deployed for two years. A major oversight by the western German design team was the fuel capacity. German researcher Boris Oswald notes that the next generation the Entdecken will have proper fuel capacity and deployment time.

Soviet research teams have been rumored to have been developing their own geological survey vessel.

The space race, according to the words of the United States president, is in full swing!

September 1949
Japan can't keep up with the other nations, as they have delayed their Geological Survey tech. The tech is estimated to be researched in 1950, but for now the Japanese are caught in a tough position. They stopped research on the Long Range Bombardment weaponry to focus more on the Geological Survey tech.

The United Kingdom state that they have almost completed the research into their own thermonuclear engines. The UK has been focusing on creating ground based technology to scan and survey TN minerals on planets. The Ministry announces that they'll soon be recruiting for the Royal Survey Corps.

In secret, the Soviet Union creates the prototype MAKAROV powered combat armor suits. The Soviets tension with the United Kingdom and the west has almost reached the flashpoint. NKVD and Red Army officials are beginning to construct a new ground organization and refit for their respective branches.

February 1950
In public, the Soviet Union announces the upcoming launch of the Sputnik-class Survey Craft prototype!
Code: [Select]
Sputnik class Science Vessel (P)      4,000 tons       59 Crew       340.7 BP       TCS 80    TH 125    EM 0

Geological Survey Sensors (2)   2 Survey Points Per Hour

This design is classed as a Military Vessel for maintenance purposes
This design is classed as a Survey Ship for auto-assignment purposes

The Sputnik-class is the fastest survey ship yet of the four nations.

Meanwhile, the United Kingdom continues its push towards the geological survey vessels and teams on the ground.

March 1950
Japan finishes the GEN1 Thermonuclear engine and pushes all her efforts into finishing the Geological Survey tech.

The United Kingdom finishes its ground based Geological Survey team research, they begin to draft a military unit dedicated to planetside surveys on distant worlds, its seen as science fiction by the wider public.

April 1950
Soviet Union completes the Sputnik design. The Soviets estimate that they'll begin construction of the Sputnik in December. The construction date is due to the expansion of the navy dockyard.

May 1950
The United Kingdom completes Geological Survey Sensors. Japan theorizes faster-than-light travel called "Jump Point Theory." The idea seems plausible, but will require extensive research. Meanwhile, Germany researches Cryogenic Transportation systems for future colonies. The Soviet Union grows weary, her satellite nations see the development of the west and want out of the Union.

The first act of the space race is coming to a close, as Germany seems to be in the lead.
Maybe, in the end, this was the best that any warrior could hope for. A chance to reconcile with your enemy, or, failing that, to fall in the pursuit of peace

Germany begins constructing the components to the Entdecken-II before beginning construction of the vessel itself.

November 1950
The Japanese have completed the shipyard expansion and have begun to construct the first Kawa class vessel. Japanese industry has prioritized modernizing the completion of Trans-Newtonian construction factories to improve the industrial base of the nation. The United Kingdom develops a new version of the Scott-class, with updated fuel and armor. They have a long way to go before their military shipyards are complete.

December 1950
The Soviet Union begins the building the first Sputnik. The Union finished fuel economy technology, allowing for more efficient engines. Meanwhile, the United Kingdom begin creating the Churchill Survey Vehicle, which houses technology for ground teams to conduct geological surveys on planetary bodies.

March 31st, 1951
The Kawa class Science Vessel is completed in the outskirts of Tokyo Japan. The launch is successful! Kaigun-Chosa Hyobanshi Mabuchi was assigned as the CO of the vessel. They state that their voyage will be a great milestone for Humanity. Meanwhile, the rest of the world watches in envy. Aboard the Kawa, Hyobanshi is ordered to head to the Moon and plant the Japanese flag. They will take a trip to Mars, Phobos, and Deimos to survey. Surprisingly, Japan has won the space race. The Japanese Navy creates the administration command known as the Japanese Surveillance Command (very creative.)

April 12th, 1951
The Kawa finishes her trip from Mars, Phobos, and Deimos. Hyobanshi is awarded a medal for his service in discovering the first planet with Trans-Newtonian minerals.

Meanwhile, in Korea, the United States and the Koreans (who are backed by China) continue to fight a bloody war. The Americans are assaulted by various nations in the west, including the United Kingdom. Beijing pleads to the USSR, asking to support the Koreans in the war. The Soviet Union provides no assistance, citing that its not their war to fight.

July 1951
Japan continues to survey the Sol System. Germany begins constructing the Entdecken II, they are hopeful to establish colonies before the Japanese can.

November 1951
The Russians complete Sputnik, a science vessel! Her maiden voyage shall be around the Sol System. Germany begins to invest more resources into completing Entdecken II which results in the Entdecken-II's launch. Meanwhile, the Korean War halts at the 38th Parallel. The two Koreas are created.

April 1952
United Kingdom's first Geological Survey Team ground formation is researched, the 1st Survey Team is being trained in London to utilize the Churchill Survey Vehicle. Germany and Japan draft commercial ship designs for colonization and transportation.
Maybe, in the end, this was the best that any warrior could hope for. A chance to reconcile with your enemy, or, failing that, to fall in the pursuit of peace

September 1952
The Soviet Union begins to construct an additional research facility after completing the Trans-Newtonian conversion of Fuel Refineries, Mines and Financial Centers. Although they are falling behind in the industrial sector, new research is being developed to enhance the construction rate. New trans-newtonian construction vehicles and methods will help the Soviet Union immensely in their path towards modernization.

The Red Army is close to completing the MAKAROV combat suit. Prototypes of the suit have been rumored to be in North Korea.

Current Soviet industrial efforts
Converting 490 CI to TN Construction Factory (60% of capacity)
Constructing 1 research facility (40% of capacity.)

Germany's pride, the Entdecken II, has surveyed 12 bodies with TN minerals. Germany's modernization efforts are beginning to lose momentum. They've begun to construct an additional laboratory and commercial shipyard. Focus has shifted from equal priority to investing into the trans-newtonian mines. The Bundestag votes in favor of a 10 Year Plan. The plan is to create infrastructure and three commercial spaceships (2 freighters and a colony ship) to establish colonies across the Sol System. President of the Bundestag states that it will be in the best interest of Germany and the world's future for colonization of the stars.

Current German industrial efforts
Converting 410 CI to TN Construction Factory (40%)
Converting 21 CI to TN Mines (30%)
Converting 44 CI to Fuel Refineries (10%)
Constructing 1 Research Facility (10%)
Constructing 1 Commercial Shipyard (10%)

The United Kingdom finish research into Railguns. British soldiers have been seen testing out the new personal weapons developed. British Prime Minister states that it is the duty of the United Kingdom for her army and future space navy to be at the ready.

October 1952
Japan completes modernizing the fuel industry and begins to construct an additional research lab.

December 1952
The United Kingdom begins construction of the Scott-class vessel.

January 1953
Germany retools a commercial shipyard for constructing the Riese class Freighter. The Riese class Freighter holds 50,000 tons and has a range of 87 billion km.

October 1953
The United Kingdom and Soviet Union begin to develop ground forces which use the TN technology. The Soviets complete the MAKAROV Combat Suit and put it on public showcase for the world to see. Germany has launched the first Riese class Freighter.

1953 is a fairly uneventful year.

January 1954
Soviet Union develops a Trans-Newtonian enhanced T-55 MBT, along with new rifles and infantry equipment. Japan launches a freighter (the Jintsu) of their own to support industrial efforts on the home island. Germany finishes its research into more powerful researching methods.

April 1954
German industry reports fall behind. Japan prospers economically, as their industry is booming due to the efforts put in by the pro-Western government. The Soviet Union has almost completed its rebuilding from the Great Patriotic War, but tensions in Korea and Vietnam keep them distracted.

CIA agents, poised to sabotage the Kremlin's diplomatic ties with Japan, sabotage the SV Kawa while she was overhauling. The agents succeeded in their false flag operation. The Prime Minister of Japan sends provoking messages to the Kremlin, stating that the Soviets are stuck in the Newtonian age. Tensions run high between the two nations.

May 1954
The United Kingdom's first Survey Team is complete. The Soviets reallocate multiple mechanized regiments to Vladivostok and a few seafaring naval ships. Japan, backed by the United Kingdom and the United States, begin to build up military forces. British Prime Minister states that "...the intention is not to start a war, but to prevent one."

June 1954
Germany begins to expand naval shipyard slipways, the project is estimated to take 4 years. Russia invests more into the military education by constructing new halls and buildings at the Leningrad Military Academy. Soviet professors are eager for the new buildings and equipment. They encourage more officers to join their navy and army. Meanwhile, in Japan, scientists have almost had a breakthrough regarding interstellar travel.

July 1954
The T-55 MBT is first seen along the East German border. The tanks wait at the checkpoint, surrounding Berlin and various major highways leading into the east. The United Kingdom and United States issue a warning. But the warning falls on deaf ears.

The Scott Survey Craft reports that Titan is suitable for ground based survey teams. Over the pond, the United States enters into the Vietnam War after France pleads for military aide from NATO.
Maybe, in the end, this was the best that any warrior could hope for. A chance to reconcile with your enemy, or, failing that, to fall in the pursuit of peace

Flashpoint: Vietnam
« Reply #5 on: June 18, 2021, 02:25:47 PM »
Author's Note: I've added the United States to the game! They've been given enough tech to start and some industry to catch up.

August 1954
The Japanese Scientific Institution in Tokyo makes a groundbreaking discovery for interstellar travel! For the past four years Japanese scientist Marugo Kinmasa has been researching the theory of Jump Point travel. Marugo states that they have the capability to find jump points, just not the manufactured technology. The Japanese government immediately begins developing ways of finding such jump points. The world rejoices!

NASA, very late to the space race, announces the Lewis class Science Vessel.

November 1954
Vietnam is divided between North and South by the Geneva Accords along the 17th Parallel. A referendum is set in a few months to vote on the unification of Vietnam. Many catholics and landowners flee into South Vietnam, while Viet Minh sympathizers flee to North Vietnam. The United States, fearful of the spread of Communism in Asia, sends conventional equipment into South Vietnam. Research goes into developing new equipment for the United States Armed Forces. President Eisenhower is intent on not sending American boots on the ground in another Asian war.

The United Kingdom military research prioritizes missile and kinetic weapons. United Kingdom's government decides to invest into defending against Communism in Europe. T-55 MBTs and now BTR-40 (that have been modified with Trans-Newtonian technology) are seen gathering along the East German Border.

Japan's treaty from WW2 is nullified by the United States and the rest of the west.

December 1954
Neutronium becomes more and more valuable as the stockpiles and resources dwindle. The United Kingdom are desperate for another colony to mine Neutronium. Mercury is claimed by the United Kingdom for a future colony. In a quickly arranged conference, to prevent another world war, the United Nations council votes on which planets are colonized.

Mercury is claimed by the United Kingdom and United States.
Venus and Io are claimed by the Soviet Union.
Titan is claimed by Germany.
Callisto is claimed by Japan.

Mars and Luna are declared as United Nations Trusted Territories, and thus are administrated by the United Nations.

January 1955
The president of South Vietnam, Diem, has won the vote with a very suspicious number of votes (98.7%) Many are skeptical in regards to the legitimacy of the vote. The South becomes the Republic of Vietnam. Thus beginning the Second Indochina War.

March 1955
Many communists and Buddhists are removed from South Vietnam by President Diem and his military forces. United States military advisors are sent to assist in training Vietnamese forces. Corruption is rampant in the south Vietnamese military.

June 1955
The United Kingdom officially intervenes in Vietnam. Royal Army forces employ new tactics that utilize the Trans-Newtonian technology in South Vietnam. In response, the Soviet Union sends their own military advisors and equipment to North Vietnam. The battle for Asia is the proving ground for Trans-Newtonian weaponry and technology. The price of Neutronium rises as shortages occur more frequently.

March 1956
Germany begins to work towards her colonial ambitions. A plan is created to get a colony ship into space by the 1960s. The guerrilla war in Vietnam wages on, with more and more commitment from the East and West. The United States has yet to send troops into Vietnam, but the next presidential election may change that.

More and more, the price of Trans-Newtonian materials rise as the scarcity increases.
Maybe, in the end, this was the best that any warrior could hope for. A chance to reconcile with your enemy, or, failing that, to fall in the pursuit of peace

Duranium Curtain - Colonization of Sol
« Reply #6 on: June 25, 2021, 10:37:47 PM »
Author's Note: I had lost some progress on this post in particular due to me moving. A few years are glossed over.

September 1956
Soviet Engineers are developing new tanks and aircraft with the potency of Trans-Newtonian power. The T-62(t) Main Battle Tank sees testing in the Siberian taiga, leading STAVKA to the conclusion that its in the best interests of the Soviet Union to put pressure on the westerners while they have the technological upper hand. STAVKA officials document: "...We suspect that the west will quickly develop technology that could rival or surpass the Red Army's. STAVKA predicts the real battle will be in space, not on Earth." Ominously, the STAVKA report ends with: "In this new arms race, it is advised to the Premier and Secretariat be aware that a Trans-Newtonian War may truly be the war to end all wars."

The Soviet Union begins to train and supply 3 new Infantry Battalions and 1 new Armored Battalion. They are planned to be organized into the 1st Guards Regiment.

Royal Army high command writes a draft for the upcoming conscription law. The Parliament and House of Commons pass it through with a slim majority.
The United Kingdom begins to train and supply 3 new Infantry Battalions. They are planned to organized into the 1st Rifle Regiment.

February 1957
German financial reports are bleak. Germany is steeping close to an economic recession as the value of Trans-Newtonian elements rise.
Vietnamese guerrillas in the South fighting against western influence has been largely disorganized. President Dwight D. Eisenhower sends more equipment and military advisors into Vietnam. Soviet and Chinese aircraft are seen performing exercises near the Vietnamese border and sea.

Japanese dockyards are being constructed to house new Naval and commercial ships.

July 1957
United States begins constructing the first Mule class Freighter. The United Kingdom create the Continental class Freighter and plenty of infrastructure to support life on distant worlds.

August 15th 1957
Japan places down a Cargo Shuttle Station on Luna. The Japanese fleet starts to construct infrastructure prefabs from Earth to place on Luna's surface.

1958-1959
The previous year was quiet. Training in London for the 1st Rifle Regiment is complete. Royal Army organization plans for three 25,000 ton battalions to make up a regiment. There will be three regiments in a division. Soviets continue to train up their 1st Regiment.

The Royal Navy designs a prototype of the Mastodon-class Troop Transport

An up-and-coming mining corporation establishes operations on Io, with support from the Japanese government. At the moment, the Japanese government is taxing Nakagawa Ventures, instead of purchasing their minerals.

The United Kingdom continues her army buildup. The 2nd Armored Regiment is being trained and supplied in Britain. First plans are put in place for the "Coventry" class Frigate which is planned to be armed with 12cm Railguns.

1961
German colonists land on Luna! The world celebrates as the first humans settle the moon of Earth. Luna supports 2million colonists at the moment. Japan falls close behind when they announce that they are creating the first Tokyo class colony ship. Meanwhile, the United States starts constructing the Tennessee class Colony Ship. United Kingdom's Royal Navy designers are adamant about reclassifying the Coventry from a Frigate to a Patrol Ship.

Japan builds automated mines that are expected to land on Callisto in 1962 or 1963. Mass Drivers and these mines will be transported in a new Cargo fleet.

February and March 1962
Mass Drivers are established on Callisto by the Japanese, the step is to place automated mining facilities on Callisto.

July 1962
The Soviets, Germans, and the Japanese have finished their survey of the Sol System. Japan announces the Uzuki class Survey Ship.

The Uzuki class Survey Ship is designed for cheap and short deployments. They are able to survey both Jump Points and planets, but are unable to make jumps themselves. The Uzuki is also designed with military grade engines. The Japanese Naval Board is weary of what could be on the other side of a Jump Point. Whether its a system with plentiful resources or an alien empire.

Meanwhile, the United States creates a new command structure known as "U.S. Military Assistance Command–Vietnam" (MACV) They attempted to stop smuggling from the Ho Chi Minh trail. By strategically relocating villagers from possible routes. Special Forces in the United States conduct raids across the Ho Chi Minh trail and the North. Northern Vietnamese forces had ample access to Trans-Newtonian weaponry, but the Viet-Cong in the south lacked such weaponry.

A memoir from an ARVN soldier details the destructive power of the United States Automatic Kinetic Machinegun:
"Pressing down the trigger of the machine gun destroys whatever I am aiming at. Tree, bush, or Viet-Cong. My platoon was armed with four of these machine guns. More destructive power than an anti-material rifle from the first Indochina war... I fear that the wrong people have access to this power and potency."

Soviets want to display their own military might in Eurasia. The 1st Guards Regiment, the only Trans-Newtonian Regiment that the USSR has trained, is deployed to Afghanistan. The 1st Guards are joined by other Red Army formations, but the 1st Guards destroy any conventional opposition. The United Kingdom, fearful of losing her colonial holdings, activates the 2nd Brigade, compromised 1 armored battalion and 3 mechanized infantry battalions, to hold the border near Iran. Iran forces move in to support British forces.

Mujahideen fighters are supplied by the CIA and MI6 with Trans-Newtonian weapons to fight the spread of communism in the Middle East.

August 1962
Germany creates the Bundeswehr in west Germany. The Bundeswehr begin training Trans-Newtonian formations. The United Kingdom and United States send troops into Vietnam. Diem is overthrown by a military Junta backed by the CIA.

October 1962
German industry booms once more, as a new interplanetary corporation is created and funded by the government. Cargo Ships developed by the private sector are being subsidized by the German government.

November 1962
British automines land on Mercury. Navy designers plan for a terraforming project, if the terraforming theories are proven to be accurate.
CIA arms south American guerrilla groups to perform coups against communist governments. Venezuela becomes a warzone as a result of the recent election of a pro communist government.

December 1962
The United States and Japan construct colony ships, the Tennessee and the Tokyo respectively. American and Japanese colonists are expected to land on Luna by January.

April 1962
Japanese colonists land on the moon and the Little Tokyo settlement near the British and German settlements.
British Army fire warning shots at Soviet forces approaching colonial borders.

May 1962
British Colonial Corps is created as an administrative body for extraplanetary civil and military affairs. In addition, a new regiment administration is created. The Lunar Regiment. The 4th Infantry Battalion, Lunar Regiment is being trained to protect civilians on Luna. Germany constructs more and more infrastructure to support the Lunar colonists.

September 1963
Kriegsmarine Navy designers create the prototype Ozelot-class Escort. The Ozelot is armed with four separate 120mm railcannons, each firing 4 shots every 15 seconds.

German military scientists also finish researching combat power suits similar to the Soviet MAKAROV suit.

September 14th, 9:44 PM, 1963
The first major engagement of the Cold War begins in the Middle East. 1st and 2nd Brigade troops were under fire from Soviet forces. The Soviet forces took massive casualties and damage from the engagement. Combat lasted for until 6am local time, before Diplomats in the west and east called for a ceasefire.

On the news, BBC reported that many bystanders were killed in the crossfire. Trans-Newtonian weaponry showed the world how potent and deadly they were. The British Army was mostly undamaged, only sustaining under a hundred casualties. The Soviets were stuck with World War 2 era doctrines and tactics.

The UN calls for an immediate resolution and consul over the conflict.

September 25th, 1963
Inspired by the Soviets in the Middle East, the North Vietnamese launch a deadly counter offensive in the south. The Viet Cong strike at major cities and populations to disrupt NATO forces.
The Ozelot's necessary components continue to be researched

March 1964
The German settlement consensus marks that the population on Luna is 10.9million residents. Reports indicate that unrest is rising due to lack of military enforcement of order. The mood is tense in the Lunar Federal Building, as Governor Emma Münch pleads to the Terran government to send troops or provide some orbital assistance. The theoretical design of the Panzermensch (the Armored Man) is complete. Now the German military has to design the practicals of the armored suit.
Code: [Select]
Panzermenschen (1964)
Transport Size (tons) 6     Cost 0.18     Armour 6.0     Hit Points 4
Annual Maintenance Cost 0.023     Resupply Cost 1.3
Improved Personal Weapons:      Shots 1      Penetration 8      Damage 6

The Soviet Union, now weary of NATO, prioritizes the development of Trans-Newtonian missiles to put the westerners on edge. The Premier states in secret that the Westerners can not be emboldened by their victory in September.

KGB agents are deployed into South Vietnam to supply the Viet Cong with a new version of the MAKAROV Combat Suit. A brief battle between US forces and Viet Cong results in a whole platoon being wiped out by Viet Cong forces. The After Action report details: "The godforsaken Viet Cong are winning. Before the involvement of the Russians, they were coming at us with spears and traps. Now they're walking tanks with kinetic railcannons... It's hell on Earth."

November 13th, 1964
The Ozelot is complete, with a few minor tweaks. The ship begins production on Earth at the Strobl Shipyards near the outskirts of Berlin. The Ozelot, in theory, is supposed to provide inter system protection to local garrisons, colonies, and civilian ships.

Kriegsmarine bureaucrats are quite pleased with the design, the first venture into military Trans-Newtonian naval vessels.

December 1964
Japanese infrastructure and cargo handling stations are placed on Mars. The Tokyo sets its next course to deliver colonists to Mars.

February 1965
Corundium Shortages across the world affect the production of automated mines. The Soviet Union is desperate to establish mining operations on Io and Venus, which have ample access and amounts of Corundium.

June 1965
The British finish researching Terraforming theory. The first Terraforming Station, known as a Genesis-class Terraformer, is designed by the Royal Navy.
German settlements on Luna face secessionist unrest, citing that the federal government in Berlin has no sway over the Lunar Germans. The Bundestag gives the Lunar Germans state representation.

July 1965
German naval designers decide to mothball the upcoming Ozelot class Escort in favor of the cheaper and more effective Jaguar class Gunboat. The Jaguar has a shorter deployment time and has far less armor plating but makes up for in speed and more efficient power/railcannon usage. The Ozelot (the only one of her class, ever) will serve as a way to remind the German settlements on Mars and Luna about where their loyalties lie.

The Soviet Union leadership have a top secret meeting in the Kremlin. The situation is dire. They're out of corundium and have no colonies. No way to make automated mines. They have to resort to manual penal labor. The Soviets propose a system to guise these new gulags as "new opportunities" for workers. The Soviet Union goes on a media blackout.

October 1965
The Ozelot class finishes construction in the outskirts of Berlin. Ozelot launches and sets for orbit above West Germany. NATO forces in the Congo are deployed to keep the peace.

January 1966
Rhodesia sparks into armed conflict as decolonization continues. The Rhodesians, armed with British conventional weapons, fight tough and nail against the sturdy Zimbabwe forces.

February 1966
The Soviet Union premier announces the "New Leap" for the Soviet Union. Soviet workers shall settle Io, to spread the worker's revolution and to secure resources. Soviet shipyards begin to build more freighters to support logistical efforts in Sol. Soviet Navy designs the Kirov colony ship. The CIA send agents and scientists into Cameroon, in hopes to find an ancient temple known as Duranius. According to old German memoirs from the 1910s, this is where the Trans-Newtonian elements were discovered. The memoirs disturbingly end after the scientists entered the Temple.

In the United Kingdom, the Prime Minister officially does not aid the former colony. However, the Prime Minister gives South Africa a greenlight. South Africa sends material assistance to Rhodesia: several Trans-Newtonian weapon crates and caches.

July 1966
The expedition into Duranius is met with mixed responses from the CIA and the Pentagon. According to ancient text in the temple, Humanity is not alone in the galaxy.
Maybe, in the end, this was the best that any warrior could hope for. A chance to reconcile with your enemy, or, failing that, to fall in the pursuit of peace
