Since Sweden is going to space, here are current Finnish naval ships - since there are so few of them, I've grouped them all together.

Hämeenmaa
Uusimaa
Pansio
Porkkala
Pyhäranta
Katanpää
Purunpää
Vahterpää
Hamina
Tornio
Hanko
Pori
Rauma

Porvoo
Naantali
Jymy
Raju
Syöksy
Vinha
Kuha
Kiiski
Jehu
Jurmo
Uisko
Vaarlahti
Vänö
Kampela
Hylje

And here are old Finnish warships, I've removed names that have been reused for modern ships so that there is no overlap:

Ilmarinen
Väinämöinen
Vetehinen
Vesihiisi
Iku-Turso
Vesikko
Saukko
Pohjanmaa
Louhi
Aallokas
Apu
Jääkarhu
Murtaja

Sampo
Sisu
Voima
Wäinämöinen
Loimu
Lieska
Paukku
Pommi

Could name them Finnish modern ships and Finnish historical ships.

Hello,

Will it be possible to define a theme for fighter squadron ?

Squadrons don't exist in the same way for C# Aurora because of the new naval organisation, although you could set them up as a sub-fleet.

what i'd love to be able to do is to have naming schemes for ships based on their hull designation (like, a list of names for CA, a list of names for DD and so on), with an option for "no duplicates" (so each ship is uniquely named until you run out of available names).
even better would be to be able to make a complete hierarchy of naming schemes, like "overall, i'm using <x> names; but since i like cruisers, CA's get names from this list; and this awesome class here deserves its own naming scheme!"
being able to save that setup with your preferred racial settings (picture, ship icon, colour and so on) would be much appreciated

and since i'm dreaming about ship naming, having an option to add a hull number to the name (either for ship class or hull class: like "DD-187 Hawkwing (Maryland Class)" would make me feel far more attached to that ship than "DD Maryland #12")

AFAIK, you can already have multiple classes using the same name list without duplication, so you can select the same naming scheme for all of your ships or for all of your ships of one type without issues. Automating it would be difficult, as you would have to define which hull types were "equivalent" to each other... e.g. that CA, CG, CL all draw names from the "Cruiser" list while CV does not.

I do like the idea of Hull/Pendant numbers, but it'd be a very minor cosmetic tweak as far as I can see to have "HMS Manchester (D-95) (Sheffield Class)" rather than just "HMS Manchester (Sheffield Class)", particularly with the same issues as above for which ships would use the same number list and how the class types would be truncated (for example, the Daring Class, Hobart Class and Arleigh Burke Class are all DDGH by NATO descriptions, but their hull numbers start variously D, DDGH or DDG)

All added. The umlauts were fine in C# but were a problem for the db (appeared as question marks) so I had to manually replace them with the non-umlaut letters.

This is a code smell. You're using SQLite, which definitely supports UTF-8 text. If you put some UTF-8 text in and get garbage (or a replacement character) back out, then you have a bug somewhere in your code. An 'ä' should be bytes 0xC3 0xA4 in both the input and output. Perhaps you're converting it to latin1 or ISO-8859-1 at some point? If that happened before it was put in the database, you would insert a 0xE4, which isn't valid in UTF-8.

$ sqlite3 test.sql "select name from names where rowid=1;" | hexdump -C
00000000  4b 61 74 61 6e 70 c3 a4  c3 a4 0a                 |Katanp.....|

It's fine within the program. The error occurs when saving to the DB. I'll look into the above.

Here are Ukrainian birds (transliteration) and Male names.

Both added. There were quite a few male names with one or more additional names in parentheses on the same line. I removed those extras, so there was just one name per line.
