Halo Alternative Universe - 2170



The Story:

It is the year 2170, Humanity stands at a precipice with the interplanetary war coming to an end as a new discovery is made on the battle torn world of Callisto, vast quantities of minerals of an unknown type are discovered on the  planet coinciding with the end of the interplanetary war, a war that was fought between the very colonies of humanity with oppression and virulent political strife at its centre, with the Unified Earth Government on one side and its opponents the "Koslovics" and "Friediens", with the UEG spouting Unity and democracy, while the  Koslovics and Friediens spout their communist and Fascist beliefs, the war has now been raging for six years and is reaching its crescendo with the last battle of the war taking place on Callisto, the moon of Jupiter was a hub for Friedian expansion and was the last holdout in the solar system, now the UEG sends the United Nations Marine Corps and the Orbital Drop Shock Troops to give the final crushing blow to the enemies of the UEG on Callisto.



Prelude - March 1st, 2170





The UNSC -  Bordeaux of the Earth Carrier Strike-group Alpha in orbit of Callisto, 08:00 hours...



The UNSC - Bordeaux is a frigate named after its own class, as it was the first of the "Bordeaux" class frigates, these frigates were known for their great point defence and strike operation capability and as such the UNSC - Bordeaux was put into the role of strike deployment in the Callisto campaign, its standard marine complement was exchanged for a mix with two companies of ODSTs under the command of Major Ray Davies, and a single marine company, the captain of the ship "Jospeh Hunter" was a career captain with a clean record and had participated in multiple engagements across the solar system during the interplanetary war, it was now the sixth year of the war and this would become his final engagement.

On the bridge of the UNSC Bordeaux, Captain Jospeh Hunter awaits patiently for the order to be given by NAVCOM to begin immediate deployment of all UNSC forces in orbit and the utilisation of primary weapons against the enemy, he would get that wish quicker then he would of expected, "This is fleet leader 1-4 Chevalier all vessels are to perform immediate deployment operations, green-light is given for go-ahead, I repeat green-light is given for go-ahead!" the warning sounded out across the bridge, the captain would stand to attention and prepare to move his ship into alert status alpha, "Lieutenant move us to alert status alpha and sound general quarters, and tell the Major to get his ODSTs prepped and ready for deployment in T-5 minutes," he would then look to an ensign to the left of him "Ensign move the Bordeaux into combat footing with the rest of the fleet", as he gave the order the ensign would give an "Aye, Captain" and with that, the orders had been issued and he could once more relax into viewing the sensor charts of possible enemy ship movements.

The UNSC - Bordeaux, Drop pod bays, 08:30 Hours...

A heavily armed man walks into the first bay and raises a fist above his head and begins to shout out orders "Alright lads lets get this one going, everyone in GO-GO-GO" as he repeats himself multiple heavily armed soldiers with ODST symbols on their shoulder-pads run past him and lock themselves into the drop pod bays, a robotic voice repeats an announcement "Ship Status: Condition Red, General Quarters has been enacted, all personnel to their designated areas" this voice would repeat over and over as red lights blinked all over the bay, once every ODST had strapped themselves in their drop-pods the man would get to his own and await for the initiation order on deployment of all ODST Drop pods.

The robotic voice ceased in the drop-pod bay and then the captains voice came over the loud speakers "This is the Captain, deployment is a-go I repeat deployment is a-go, all ODST drop pods have green-light for immediate drop" as the voice subsided a green-light came on and within seconds all the drop pod bay doors opened and hundreds of drop pods launched, fired directly downward towards Callisto at incredibly fast speeds.

Three thousand metres into the air the retro-jets deploy allowing what could the smoothest landing expected out of a drop pod firing towards a planet at extremely fast speeds, the target of the ODSTs would be a renegade outpost, they would land just outside of it and then begin immediate CQC operations to take it over, it was a risky operation but the admiralty was getting restless and wanted results quick, so a risky plan was used.




The ODSTs dropped down with almost their entire force, the AA fire had been minimal due to the high speeds of the drop pods, but as soon as they landed they had come under heavy fire as expected, machine gun nests had opened fire on the drop pods and rockets were flying over the position of the ODSTs, Major Davies was leading the attack and was currently stuck in trying to organise his forces to be able to begin counter attacks against the enemy forces.

"Foxtrot, Kilo, I want you moving to the south eastern ridge to begin immediate suppressive fire against the enemy emplacements" The Major pointed to the ridge as he ran up to a nearby rock, taking pot shots against the enemy entrenchments as he ran, after grappling himself to a nearby rock a lieutenant came up to the side of him "Sir we need immediate fire support at Locations Beta through to Echo, we have multiple enemy static emplacements hitting us and our forces cant get out of the landing zone", the Major looked around for a second and then saw two men carrying rocket launchers "You two move yourselves down to Beta and begin providing heavy fire support across the line" as he ordered them he designated the targets in their HUDs, "Alright lieutenant you got your support, now get rid of those emplacements for me!" the lieutenant nodded and moved off, the Major was in for the thick of it and this battle would cause heavy losses in the ODST lines, but for now he had to lead his men to a victory and thoughts like that had no place on the field.






The UNSC - Bordeaux, In orbit of Callisto, 09:00 Hours...

The Bordeaux was currently stationed in orbit after deploying its ODSTs to Callisto, it was currently preparing to provide orbital fire support to the forces below, but before the captain could give the order, four small fast attack crafts entered within radar range. The bridges radar officer turned to the captain from his desk, "Captain we have multiple non UNSC ship contacts on trajectory to our security perimeter", the Captain then stood to attention and told his communications officer to open a channel to the crafts, the communications officer nodded "You are on sir", "This is Captain Hunter of the UNSC - Bordeaux, turn back immediately, this is an active combat zone and any intrusion will result in immediate retaliation" he then told the communications officer to close the channel, "Alright Lieutenant I want a full radar report of the contacts, their disposition, possible weapons and engine speeds". For now he would have to sit and wait and see what the contacts would do, in the meantime he was receiving reports from the surface indicating that the outpost would be taken within the hour but casualties had been not insignificant and the Major was requesting orbital support, knowing he could not provide that without being vulnerable to the possible hostiles entering the war-zone he got on the comm and requested for a Broadsword squadron from the UNSC - Sigma to be sent to the surface to provide support if possible.

No reply had been sent from the contacts and as such the Captain was getting very suspicious, his radar officer would turn around and give him the full report of the unidentified contacts, "Sir it appears that the four contacts are Helmsworth class light corvettes, equipped with a high velocity coilgun and extremely fast engines, they are currently on a hostile footing towards us" with this information now known the captain ordered for his comms officer to advise all friendly UNSC ships on the hostiles coming towards them and for his tactical officer to begin immediate target lock preparations against the enemy vessels, he also ordered for the ship to be moved away from Callisto and for all cannons to spoil up.




The UNSC - Bordeaux, Space Near Callisto, 10:00 Hours...

"Sir the vessels are continuing on their trajectory, further orders?" the Captain not having many other options tells the comms officer to open up communications again, "I repeat, this is Captain Hunter of the UNSC - Bordeaux, you are attempting to enter an active combat zone, if you continue on your current trajectory you will be fired upon" he signalled for comms to be cut, "Sir they are still moving towards security perimeter" The comms officer said, looking over his shoulder. With the battle raging on the surface and possible hostile contacts breaching the security perimeter he has to make a decision quickly...  "Alright, thats enough lieutenant spoil up the MAC and give them one hell of a warning shot directly into the closest vessel", as he gave the order the tactical officer primed a firing solution and got a positive lock and on the captains order "Fire!", a round travelling at 0.02 of the speed of light flew out of the chamber creating an immense explosion around the front of the ship, "Time to impact is T-3..2...1" Successful impact, first contact destroyed sir.", with the first contact destroyed he would have to see what the other vessels would do with the realisation that the UNSC was not playing around.




The enemy vessels had continued on their course and were picking up speed even after the lead ship had been obliterated by the Bordeaux's MAC, it would take a considerable amount of time to fire once more with it, as such the only offensive capability left for it was point defence cannons arranged across the hull, unlike the Falcon variant of the Bordeaux, the ship had no missile pods and as such relied on its MAC for its offensive capabilities, other UNSC ships were around an hour out for the fastest ships as such the Bordeaux would have to face the hostiles on its own.

"I want that MAC back online immediately, and get all our point defence cannons spoiled up, those helms-worth class corvettes need to close in to be able to use their coilguns so lets make them pay for it when they do" as he gave the order several "Aye, Aye captain" sounded out across the bridge as point defence cannons began spoiling up to ready status. at this point the enemy ships had closed within striking distance and were within 128,000km of the Bordeaux, thankfully the MAC had finished recharging and the captain gave an order for it to fire at the closest enemy ship, "Fire!" the captain bellowed and immediately the MAC fired another round at extreme speeds towards the enemy contacts, the tactical officer gave live updates "Round on target, impact in 1...2...3 impact achieved, ship has lost all hull integrity, contact down"

With the second contact now down the enemy ships were entering extremely close range and began opening up with their coilguns, firing in bursts of three these high velocity coilguns impacted the Bordeaux across its frontal section causing armour plates to fracture, the bordeaux was tough though and could hold its own vs small corvettes and its armour could hold for an extended period of time. The bridge shook as the next enemy round impacted the ship, the captain trying to gain his bearings stood up and ordered for all point defence cannons to begin ship to ship engagement against the enemy corvettes, the point defence cannons began emptying salvos towards the enemy ships, the corvettes were proving tougher then expected and were still holding even under the Bordeaux's impressive weapon systems.

As the battle raged the comms officer turned around and put Major Davies on, "This is Major davies we have gained control of the enemy outpost and are currently securing the area around it, full mission success" With this news the captain stood up "Great news major, unfortunately we are engaged with enemy ships in space, as such do not expect to come home too soon, Bordeaux out", he signalled for the comm to be turned off and he requested an update from his tactical officer, "We have crippled one of the enemy vessels, the other vessel is still providing resistance but we expect its destruction in under five minutes" he nodded with approval.

"Sir MAC online and targeting solution primed, it is ready to fire" the tactical officer said after standing up from his console, "Very good, initiate firing solution and blow that corvette out of the sky, and then I want a damage report of the Bordeaux's status". With the enemy ships destroyed or crippled and the outpost on the surface secured, the mission had been a resounding success even with the surprise in the form of the enemy corvettes. He would order for the ship to reenter orbit of Callisto and for fleet command to be updated on the current situation.




Callisto,  "Eisenhower" Former Terrorist Military Outpost, 11:20 Hours...

The outpost had fallen within the hour as ODST forces dropped down and began a war of brutal efficiency against the terrorist forces located within the facility, Major Davies had been extremely happy with the progress and was currently working on setting up a landing zone for further military forces to land as well as the clearing of the outer perimeter, some of the enemy forces had fled the facility and were fighting in the outer reaches of the region, trying to inflict as many casualties on the ODSTs as possible, thankfully a squadron of broadsword class fighters had been sent down to support them and he had requested they perform a bombing run on a region known to contain these survivors.

The bombing run was a immense success and the ODSTs got to watch the fireworks from the outpost, as the Major was watching the fireworks himself from the command room of the outpost, a young private rushed up to him "Sir... um sir... we found something, at the east side of the base, it seems that they were mining something here, it gives off this strange glow" As the private ushered his words in a hushed manner Major Davies looked at him and then grabbed his weapon and got moving to the east side of the base.




He walked up to what seemed like an elevator shaft with multiple ODSTs surrounding it, as he approached one of more well known lieutenants saluted him and then showed him in, once inside they would walk for a considerable distance before making to what can only be described as a shining wall of rocks, that seemed to almost phase in and out of existence, he would turn to the lieutenant and ask him what the hell was this stuff, "Sir I do not truly know, we have taken some samples and scans but we do not have the equipment to fully understand it, one thing I do know is..." He motions over to a table nearby, "That this stuff is incredibly strong, whatever it is" he then takes out his assault rifle and fires three shots at it, they all deflect off with not a single scratch on the material, "Whatever this stuff is, they must of been trying to use it to make their equipment stronger, my men have observed some of their bodies containing this material lined on under their chest plates" the lieutenant finished explaining, "Well lieutenant if this is the case then we need to report it directly up the chain and get their opinion on it"



The war would be over, but humanity was changed forever as not only had the war caused adverse effects on the human race it had also brought with it the discovery of new elements, with the very first of these elements found on Callisto and more popping up everywhere people started to look, and that is where our story begins, in the dawn of a new age of human exploration and technological advancement.

Campaign Setup



Campaign Notes: This AAR is built upon the previous two, 1.5.1 and 1.7.3 both with their own stories and gameplay, I have improved on original designs of ships that I had as well as added new ships, this campaign will reflect Halo lore in many ways but the "divergence" point is after the discovery of trans-newtonian materials on Callisto, and the timeline will continue to diverge more and more as the campaign progresses, so do not take this as a retelling of exact Halo lore, but instead more and more increasingly inspired by it, as the effect of trans-newtonian materials will vastly change the abilities of the UNSC and the timeline established.



Starting Conditions:
  • Research points are increased from a regular TN start by about 4x, this is to allow a good starting base and variety of weapons and ships.
  • Everything is based off a population of one billion, except for other planets in the sol system and maintenance facilities.
  • Starting build points are around 2x the normal to allow a preexisting fleet as well as ground forces.
  • Ship design is based off Halo ships from the future but obviously much smaller and with less weapon systems to indicate that these ships were the ancestors of the ships we see in the games
  • The game is starting at a point where the sol system has already been colonised but trans-newtonian materials were not discovered until recently and as such no geological surveys were completed of the system, this allows me to more accurately describe humanity from Halo before the slip-space drive was discovered.
  • Research rate is 80% slower than normal this is to allow the game to go for much longer and also make anomaly's and alien ruins much more impactful, ship designs will last much longer and there will be literal generations of vessels.
  • Due to the interplanetary war that took place in Halo ending just at the start of the year, the naval and ground forces of the UNSC are spread out to simulate counter-terrorism operations against the UEGs enemies, such as the ODSTs dropped on Callisto.

Replacement Weapons:
  • Particle lances are replaced by MACs
  • Gauss cannons are replaced by Point Defence Cannons, S1 = Normal S2 = Medium S3 = Heavy
  • Railguns are replaced by coilguns
  • Missile pods = missile launchers

Populations under the control of the UEG - 2170

Sol System.
 Earth - The home-world, economic and cultural centre of the UEG, with primary naval headquarters stationed, half of the UNSC Home fleet is always kept in orbit to provide protection at all times.
   Luna - Earths only moon, it was colonised early in humanities ascension to the stars and is home to a population of ten million with a renowned naval training academy on the planets surface.
 Mars - The second most heavily populated world in the system after Earth, it has become a site of industrialisation and research as it was originally colonised by private corporations.
 Ganymede - The most populated moon of Jupiter it is know for its financial and economic infrastructure as well as leading industrialisation among the Jovian Moons
 Io - Primarily a world designated by the UEG for refuelling and supplying deep sol fleets, it also features highly advanced tracking stations installed by the UNMC corps of engineers in the year 2165
 Callisto - Former headquarters of the terrorist organisation known as the "Friedians" it is now a military outpost designed to store vast quantities of ordinance for UNSC Deployments
 Europa - Settled by a former corporation of Earth and scientists, Europa was colonised for the purposes of research into possible signs of alien life, though no were found it still maintains its research facilities
 Titan - Only recently colonised in 2153 this is currently the only moon of Saturn colonised with more moons of Saturn to be colonised in the 2180s

Naval Military Forces of the UEG



The Organisation of the Navy: The navy of the UEG is organised under an overarching organisation known as the UNSC or United Nations Space Command, established in 2163 this organisation was formed to take on the responsibility of fighting the then "United Nations" wars in space against the up and coming terrorist organisations that came up in the early 2160s, the Naval arm of the UNSC is called the UNSC Naval Command  below is the entire organisation of the UNSC Naval Command and its subordinate organisations.

UNSC Armed Forces - The organisation that all UNSC forces fall under.
    UNSC Naval Command
        UNSC Navy - Subordinate of UNSC Naval Command but the overwarching authority over all subordinate commands
            UNSC Fleet Command - Commands the entirety of the UNSCs Military Fleet Assets
            Naval Special Warfare Operations Command - Commands special warfare elements such as the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers (ODSTs).
            Logistical Operations Command - Commands all logistical elements such as cargo freighters, colony ships and utilises many commercial elements to provide logistics to the Navy.
            Office of Naval Intelligence - Oversees Intelligence gathering efforts and administrates operational parameters of <Redacted>

The UNSC Fleet Command is made up of Expeditionary Groups which are then made up of various task forces, within those task forces are various fleets that are built up of various squadrons, such as Prowler, Escort, and Frigate Squadrons, this allows the UNSC to split up its navy accordingly and combine it again when the needs arise.



UNSC Fleet Doctrine:


The UNSC Navy is built around what is commonly known as "Carrier" Doctrine in which an entire fleet is based around either a single or multiple carriers, this doctrine was formed from the original naval doctrines used by the nations of Earth when a Navy referred to a "Sea-Borne" force, now in space this doctrine is seen to even greater effects, with carrier strike groups being the main offensive forces of the UNSC with carriers being able to provide not only strike capability with fighters but also ground enforcement and orbital bombardment.

Seen below is the current organisation of a naval carrier strike-group, the primary offensive capability of the UNSC Navy, a Naval Carrier Strike-Group can be made up of one-three carriers, one-six Cruisers as well as one-three Military Class Support Vessels, up to two Prowler Squadrons which are made up of eight Destroyers, and can also contain up to four escort squadrons which contain eight corvettes in each squadron, each carrier and vessel can be loaded with various complements of fighters and ground forces, including F-11 Broadsword Atmospheric Fighters, GA-T1 Rapier Class Strike Interceptors, as well as D22-TC Raven class troop carriers, infantry complements include Marines and ODSTs in varying sizes.







Now this does not mean that the UNSC does not use smaller groups or squadrons to great effect but for the primary naval fighting force, carrier doctrine is heavily enforced and utilised. On a final note, naval doctrine is ever changing to adapt to ever increasing dangers and situations as such naval doctrine is a fluid and dynamic process where what may work a year ago may not work now and as such a good captain or admiral will always be trying to adapt and adjust their doctrine to meet the current situation at hand.



UNSC Military Ship Designs

Attached below are the schematics of all active serving vessels within the UNSC Navy, the next generation of ships is expected in 2220, but as of 2170 these are the current ships in service, from light corvette to military support vessel they all fill one role or another in the UNSC Navy and are explained accordingly.

Author Notes: These designs are not meant to be optimal but to instead designed to be both practical and RP as such there are design choices that may not make sense at first, please do not comment with how x ship design is not the best, commenting obvious mistakes is fine though, please enjoy!



The UNSC - Helmsworth class light corvette is an old design, primarily utilised for orbital and system patrol, the class was commissioned in 2153 and is reaching the end of its lifespan with the last of the planned vessels finishing construction in 2161, despite their age they feature great speeds utilising a recently refitted Ion Drive capable of propelling it at speeds of up to 9375 km/s, for its armament it uses a single Light High Velocity Coilgun which is a scaled down version of the primary MAC found on the bigger ships of the UNSC and can pack a heavy punch with a much quicker rate of fire, it fires in bursts of three against its opponents and in squadrons these vessels can bring down vessels 10x their size. It features no significant marine complement besides a single squad of marines for protection duty and for naval security reasons.

The Orca class Picket Corvette is designed for use in protection of vital areas and the escort of larger vessels in formations of squadrons known as "escort" squadrons, it has a fleet standard speed and is layered with 30cm Armour plates, its armament consists of two M302 Rattle Naval Coilguns which are primarily used for ship-ship combat as well as orbital bombardment support, for point defence it contains four Point Defence Cannons and two Heavy Point Defence Cannons, the class was recently commissioned in the year 2163 to deal with defending large swathes of space in the sol system without having to commit heavier vessels.

The Manta class Picket corvette is based off the hull of the Orca and was constructed around the same time, it gets rid of the Naval Coilguns, and adjusts the size of the point defence cannons it also gets rid of 10cm of Armour for a newly discovered and designed "Slip-Space" Drive capable of propelling the ship and ships around it at faster-than-light speeds, allowing it to provide three other vessels of similar size independent movement through systems without any other infrastructure.

The Pike class destroyer is a state of the art vessel that came into service around the time the Orca and Manta class picket corvettes did, it is the smallest vessel containing a MAC, it utilises a twinlinked MAC with a single frigate sized MAC on the top barrel while on the under barrel it uses a High-Velocity Coilgun, this allows the destroyer to keep up fire while the primary cannon is reloading, it also features a respectful point defence system containing four medium point defence cannons that provide highly accurate flak fire against incoming missiles, it also features an improved sensor suite which allow it to detect missiles at up to 1.6mkm, it has an armour belt of 40cm and it contains a platoon of marines for its troop complement, primarily designed to provide security against boarding operations intended to take over the vessel.

The Pole class destroyer is based on the hull of the Pike but reduces the armour belt by 25% and decreases point defence capability by 50% as well as getting rid of the twin-linked capability of the MAC, it gives up all of these features for the use of a Destroyer class slip-space drive that allows it to move with other destroyers across star systems in "Wolf Pack" squadrons.

The Bordeaux class frigate is a proven vessel, being commissioned in 2164, with the first vessel being put into service just a year after the interplanetary war, this vessel is seen by many to be the workhorse of the UNSC Navy with two variations based off its Hull due to its venerable nature and demand for more vessels utilising it, it has a single MAC, but where it comes into its own is its defensive capabilities, with an armour belt of 50cm and twelve point defence cannons, two heavy and ten normal, it can put a ridiculous amount of defensive fire into the space around it, as such some have taken to nickname it the "Guardian". It also carries a troop complement of either two ODST Drop Companies or a mix, of one ODST Drop Company and two marine platoons, allowing it to provide strike deployment operations and flexibility to deal with multiple new threats at once.

The Falcon class Frigate, based off the hull of the Bordeaux it swaps out half of the point defence systems in favour of the M12 Defiance Missile Assault System, which consists of five Missile pods (each consisting of 5 missile launchers) which allow it to fire the M5 Valiance Missile at over 24,000 km/s, designed to overwhelm enemy point defence, these ships were designed and created for the express purpose of providing long range missile fire in the size of a frigate.

The Chitin class Frigate, based off the hull of the Bordeaux it reduces its armour belt by 20% as well as cutting the point defence systems in half, in exchange it utilises the newly developed Frigate-Class Slip-Space drive which is a requirement for large frigate based operation.

The Promise of Dawn class Survey Frigate, is based off an older predecessor to the Bordeaux, utilising more efficient engines and losing all of its armament in exchange for a highly advanced sensor suite that will lead the way forward in exploration, it was also the first ship to be fitted with a slip-space drive, these vessels are expected to work for up to four years at a time exploring the universe, the next generation of survey frigates are planned for 2190.

The Endurance Class Heavy Cruiser, an extremely important design this class of ships has the ability to fire one hundred and fifty rounds every five seconds in its point defence system, it can also withstand a great deal of punishment with 80cm of armour, besides its point defence systems it also utilises a vast missile network with six missile pods (containing 10 missile launchers each), which have also been fitted with two options of missiles either the M5 Valiance Swarm Anti Ship Missile or the M5A3 Defiant Anti-Missile-Missile, this allows the cruiser to provide extreme protection as its primary duty is the protection of the carrier that is accompanies, besides its weapons and armour it has a complement of either a single ODST Drop battalion and a UNMC Rifle Company as well as four ODST Combat teams or a full ODST complement consisting of two ODST Drop Battalions, it also has the ability to ferry formations to the ground or to other ships using its single D22-TC Raven Troop Carrier.

The Sigma Class Strike Carrier, is the pride of the fleet with only one in service it is the honorary flagship of the UNSC's Navy, it  has an impressive defence network with twenty point defence cannons, and 60cm of armour, besides point defence it also is the only ship that utilises two MACs on a single ship as such it is capable of holding its own in combat, of course it being a carrier it can carry either twelve Rapier Class Strike Interceptors or instead eight of them and four D22-TC Raven Class Troop Carriers. It also features exactly the same complement as the UNSC Endurance in terms of marines and ODSTs. From a Sigma Class Strike Carrier a UNSC strikegroup is commanded by a rear admiral, as such it is one of the most important vessels in the UNSC with only one in active service, the UNSC - Sigma, its protection and use is paramount to the security of the UEG.

The Magellan class Military Support Vessel (MSV) is one of the most expensive but necessary crafts in the UNSC Fleet, with it costing the same as two carriers or two heavy cruisers this vessel is required for its Slip-Space engine which allows the transport of the aforementioned carriers and heavy cruisers, it features a moderate point defence network and massive hangers that hold the F-11 Broadsword class atmospheric fighters and Raven Class Troop Carriers, this vessel is designed to jump a fleet in and then wait behind until support is required, it contains massive magazines that hold thousands of missiles for reloads if the main fleet requires it as well as weapon pods for on the fly refits for its fighters.

The GA-T1 Rapier Class Strike Interceptor is the primary space fighter of the UNSC, it features a top speed of 15029 km/s, its armament consisting of two M4103 25mm Coilguns and two MKI ASGM-1 Missile pods capable of firing an anti-ship-guided-missile at 33,750 km/s, with the ability to destroy entire military installations with just one of the missile impacts, it is primarily used for either space defence or short range strike operations.

The F-11 Broadsword class Atmospheric Multi-Role Fighter is a recent addition to the fleet, it can operate both in space and atmosphere but is designated for atmosphere due to its weapon complement and the primary theatre of warfare it is used in, which is atmospheric,  it features a similar speed to the Rapier but instead swaps out the armament for two M537 ASW/AC 20mm MLA Cannon pods and two M3044 ST/MMP Missile pods which allow it to provide ground strike capability.

The D22-TC Raven class Troop Carrier is the primary mode of transport for UNMC and other ground naval assets, it can transport up to a full platoon of Marines and features a moderate speed of 7514 km/s, it is also used in boarding actions and has been proven effective against terrorist vessels.

Naval Commercial Forces of the UEG



The Organisation of the Commercial Navy: The Commercial vessels of the UEG are organised under the "Logistical Operations Command" it was established in 2163 when the UNSC itself was created, its primary job is to provide logistics support to all UNSC vessels such as troop transport, cargo, colony, fuel supply. The Logistical Operations Command is made up of logistics task-groups and under them are multiple logistics groups such as "Cargo Group Alpha".

The Eden class colony ship is designed to ferry large amounts of colonists to new colonies, with four being in service in the year 2170.

The Halkon class freighter is based on the Eden but replaces the cryogenic transports for fully fledged cargo bays, four are in service in the year 2170.

The Spirit of Earth class troop transport is designed to move large quantities of UNA forces across the solar system, it can carry a total of 50,000 tons of ground forces, four are in active service.

The Ambrosia class fuel harvester station is capable of harvesting up to 2.4 million litres of fuel every year, with a total fuel capacity of 10,000,000 litres, two of these stations are currently in service.

The Diligence class refuelling station is the primary refuelling hub of the UNSC with two in active service this staiton can refuel entire carrier strikegroups with just half of its total fuel capacity.

The Gaia class terra-forming station is a recent addition to the commercial fleet with only two in service this station can theoretically turn worlds into fully habitable and prospering.

The Julian class jump tender is an extremely recent design, using tech discovered on Callisto it has a slip-space drive capable of transporting even the largest of ships through to other systems, it also acts as a secondary tanker.

The Brigantine class tanker is designed to provide mobile fuel resupply to military fleets, while carrying much less than a diligence class refuelling station it is a mobile platform capable of transporting the fuel across large distances.

Ground Forces of the UEG



The Organisation of all ground forces: The ground forces of the UNSC are organised into the Unified Ground Command or UNICOM which sits under the UNSC Armed Forces, and under the command contain the other three branches of the UNSCs military assets, with the United Nations Marine Corps (UNMC), the United Nations Army (UNA), the United Nations Air Force (UNAF). The UNMC is tasked with the security of naval vessels as well as the UNSCs land-based expeditionary combat operations. The UNA is tasked with garrisoning as well as providing security to worlds that the UNMC have captured. The UNAF is tasked with the protection and securing of worlds through the utilisation of all Air Assets including Orbital Defense Platforms, F11-Broadswords and any other aerial assets. Attached below is the full organisation layout of UNICOM.

UNSC Ground Doctrine:

The doctrine of the UNSC is reminiscent of the US of old with combined arms taking precedent, with three branches of the military being under UNICOM, and the high amounts of communication it allows for any threat or situation to be quickly adapted to and dealt with by appropriate levels of force depending on the situation, the UNMC in conjunction with the naval special warfare commands ODSTs are used for strike deployment and offensive capability. The UNA and UNAF work together to provide protection once the UNMC and ODSTs have captured the position or planet and serve in the garrison duty. This allows the UNSC to quickly assault and capture worlds and then garrison them in quick succession.

Currently due to the interplanetary war all UNSC Ground forces are currently engaged in some kind of military action as such they are spread out, attached below is the current ground forces of the UNSC, though spread out and currently fighting in military actions or set up in security positions they can form together into a cohesive unit at any time, with the divisional and regimental headquarters stationed on Earth or Mars.







As you can see all ground forces are either in active duty onboard ships or stationed across the solar system.

The United Nation army starts at the company level for most major operations, with the standard Infantry Company, and the Medium Anti-Aircraft Battery, the Medium Artillery battery, all of these formations are organised uner the UNA Battalion and each Battalion is organised under a brigade which is then further organised under a UNA division, then for armoured elements you have Tank Companies and Mechanised Infantry companies which are then organised under a Combined Arms Battalion which is then further organised into a Combined Arms Brigade. Combat engineer companies may also be attached at the battalion-divisional level depending on the situation to provide fortification and terrain assistance.

The United Nations Marine Corps utilises multiple formations down to the platoon level, it is composed of much smaller formations to allow it to properly provide security to all kinds of UNSC Vessels, this does not mean it does not have larger formations but rather that it has much more formation versatility, it is composed of UNMC infantry and Heavy Weapons Platoons, which are organised under Rifle Companies or Strike Companies depending on role or mission objective, the strike Companies do not go under any higher organisation as their purpose is purely strike deployments onboard ships, while the standard Rifle Company goes under a battalion which consists of three Rifle Companies and one weapons company. The battalions are then organised under a regiment, which are further organised under a division.

The Orbital Drop Shock Troops or ODSTs are organised under the UNSC Naval special warfare command but communicate heavily with ground forces and provide the UNSCs strike deployment capability, ODST formations are organised at the combat team level which is equivalent to a half strength platoon, these combat teams act on their own and are usually stationed onboard ships for special operations, the rest of the forces are organised under Drop Companies which are then further organised under Drop Battalions and furthermore organised under a Drop Regiment. the reason for the high variance in size among the formations owes back to the fact that the ODSTs are Special Forces and as such have different organisation, and can adapt to any task.
