Empire of Man (EoM)
Drgong:
I made some python code to generate royals and so on. And I am going to use it to run the background in my first Aurora Game of 2018.
Some rules for this.
1. Running it as a imperial government. Politics will exist, but not elections since I don't want to deal with that. There will be a imperial senate and more importantly, a imperial household.
2. Ships will not be able to be upgraded very much. No engine or armor swaps. only able to upgrade some weapon systems or sensors.
3. Conventional start since I like those starts
4. The Military Industrial complex means that I will have a fair bit of ships, even when as a player it makes no sense to build stuff early on.
5. 25 research, and 4 shipyards 800 million population start.
6. As always, I welcome anyone who wants to recommend ship names, propose ships to the bureau of ships, want to have your name put in as a officer, and so on. Also of course, royal family members need names.
7. Generally I will not, but I reserve the right to SM in stuff if needed.
8. My generator does give personality to the created folks. So when a empire changes hand to the next one, there could be a change in both how the empire operates and priorities and so on.

War in the 21st century is a terrible thing.
Some still debate what was the trigger, and some argued that the war started in the early part of the century, and just never ended, until it suddenly did. On November 11, 2038 the world ended for billions of humans. By 2045, 6 billion where dead but the world had cobbled together five blocks of surviving nations. The Trans Pacific partnership, the North American Union, China, Russia, and the Council of states. However the environmental and physical damage to earth was massive, and only 800 million survived. However the survival of the species was guaranteed by the work of Gideon Wessex, a Anglo-american who discovered how to grow food in the wasted lands of earth, and how to generate the power to keep the cities lighted. However his company held a monopoly on some of the key items needed to feed the starving earth, and he called forward representatives from all major powers and made a Faustian bargain. He would sell the needed chemicals at cost to each of the nations, in return they would form a new world government, that him as emperor, and they could send representatives to a imperial senate, which had oversight on his actions. Each of the five powers were given leeway on internal governing. And then he leaked it to the press. The concept of cheap food for all was too strong for the starving mass of humanity, and the stability afforded by the Imperial peace has allowed for investments to once again be made.
(Note, I will update in 5 year intervals unless something cool happens, which might be 20 years from now, or if I figure out a cool story.)

Gideon Wessex - Age 25 - First Emperor of Man. Noted as Kind, Gruff, and somewhat easygoing.
Stella Wessex (Nee Vickers) - Age 20, Empress. Noted as being Cruel in person, a defender of the poor, and a believer in odd things and dark rituals. Sister to the Senator Vickers.

All are Earth based senators. Listed in seniority. The number in () is their age as of 2050.

(Note, the TRA, and other resistance groups will occasionally carry out terror attacks (blowing up ships, killing Senators or imperial family). Won't bore you with the details. Once colonies are made there could be resistance groups that want independence of colonies.

2050 had a few items of note.
The Imperial couple carried out there constitutional duty, and had twins!
One male, one female.
Jamie Wessex is now Heir to the throne.
Contessa Wessex is now 2nd in line to the throne.
In addition, the Empire of Man started to launch ships, of course, these ships where promptly outdated by the development of Trans-Newtonian Technology. See attached photo for a description and drawing of the classes. Tokyo Commercial shipyard is building the Jules Verne, while Bengal Shipyard is handing the smaller Asimov Class.

Okay, doing a few "news and notes"
2050 - Royal Twins born, Asimov, Jules Verne classes launched.
2051 - Asimov, Jules Verne construction line completed. Luna and Mars colonies founded using those ships. Mars settled on Christmas Day, 2051. Senators Akira Ito age 53, and Mr. Tanaka age 72 where killed in a Terran Republic Army bombing of their private flight.
2052 - 8 Geo-Servery probes launched.
2053 - James Cook Geoservey vessels laid down. Class-A shuttle Built, A-GEO fighter built and begins survey work. Aslan Mk 1 Patrol Vessels laid down. Appleseed class Colony ships laid down. James Cook x2 built, Civilian Mine established on Eros, 4x Aslan Mk 1 built. Another son (Leo) is born.
2054 - Remaining Aslan, James Cooks completed, Appleseeds completed. First colonies on the Jovians and Titan, Berlin Class Cruisers laid down.

(Yes, I know they are not amazing designs, and note these are very early in the game.
As a note -
I am going to just run this game till it gets to a fun part. I have some Python code I have written that automates elections, How long kings live, how many kids (and if they are legitimate or not) and so on. (and since the elections are automated, I will run elections that drive policy. (Parties might be expansionists, pro navy, pro PDC, and so on).
So when I get to something worth writing about I will write about it. otherwise, it would just be stuff like election reports, which I do not think people will find fun.
