"Remove the strain off of" being political speak for "quietly siphon off power from and accumulate for ourselves", I presume. That's the royal "we" there, of course.
"Yes, yes, that's it, look at the pretty moon halfway across the solar system...pay no attention to domestic affairs..."
To less fanfare they begin quietly signing rental agreements for the various shop modules aboard the station with the 2200s versions of McDonald's, Walmart, and strangely enough the resurgent Blockbuster video store franchise among others.
Candidly, I wonder if this may be an over-optimistic investment. Infrastructure presently is given to many other projects including the orbital modules, so perhaps it would be better to construct planetside terraformers instead and ship them around the solar system? The colonization fleets seem to be quite robust and could easily support this.
If an empire can hum along just fine without an Imperator for five, actually size years, is the role of Imperator really so necessary? Perhaps this reluctance to act heralds a new period of political change, though one imagines not so much upheaval as simply a realignment of hallowed institutions.
Or civil war and upheaval, also good, can't be too picky these days after all.
And then after long last, finally we have some shooty bits to admire!
An impressive vessel, and certainly it is quite a statement to make when such a sizeable craft is the first of your new battle fleet. I do note that she lacks a mid-resolution (10 or 20) sensor so there is a bit of a gap in the sensor coverage which FACs could exploit for instance. Of course it will be seen in battle if this is actually any consideration...
Size month deployment time is probably a tad short for any kind of on-station deployment but sufficient for a sortie-focused battle fleet, which implies the strategy behind the designs.
Very interesting that the destroyer squadrons are not particularly armed for actually killing things, as a single four-ship group only carries thirteen 15 cm lasers between them. A curious choice of doctrine, but hopefully the missile defenses will make these an effective shield for the empire. I suspect we have yet to see the sword which accompanies the shield...
Fairly basic but it should get the job done and at least on defense can support the DD squadrons adequately. Overall the empire should feel secure in its position...for now.

A rather long update but now we are building to the exciting bits. I suppose the next step then is that a proper jump point survey needs to be done so we can really begin exploring the galaxy to find someone to, um, show off our lovely new navy to!
Imperial Decree
Imperator Celestine Stern Issues an order to restore the balance of industry within Terra to counteract the explosive growth of the other houses. Furthermore, she commissions 2 additional naval shipyards, citing that the Hegemony knows of intelligent life existing in the universe and that the Hegemony must be ready. The last objective is for the construction of additional research facilities to remove the strain off of house Titus.

House Titus
The promises of colonizing Titan are a tall order, even for House Titus, thankfully with civilian shipping they need not worry about producing their own ships instead focusing on producing the infrastructure necessary to colonize Jupiter's moon.

April 13th 2252 the 10th orbital habitat is placed above mercury, marking a monstrous achievement by the Kappermen House. They humbly stating that the habitats are just extensions of Terra herself and that they held no ownership over them other than being the one who built them.
To less fanfare they begin quietly signing rental agreements for the various shop modules aboard the station with the 2200s versions of McDonald's, Walmart, and strangely enough the resurgent Blockbuster video store franchise among others.

House Kapperman
While the other houses prepare for unknown threats or seek to claim new territories, High Lady Oneida Kapperman has been in talks for months with High Lord Randulf Corax regarding the great issues of colonization. While habitats and infrastructure has allowed humanity to spread from Terra, they are confined by the limits of what they can build. With this in mind, High Lady Oneida Kapperman has been single handily funding the research of terraforming. Now with House Corax’s support, the two begin preparations for the first Terraforming stations.
Research: Terraforming Modules
Candidly, I wonder if this may be an over-optimistic investment. December 6th 2262 the new Imperator has yet to be chosen, the High Lords and other electors still in debate over who is best to lead the Hegemony. Rumours circulate that the most likely candidate Reikhardt Stern isn’t being considered which has caused concern throughout much of the Hegemony. Some fear the current High Lord of house Stern will revolt if he’s not chosen. Something which High Lord Reikhardt Stern has assured will never happen. Regardless the electors do not expect a new Imperator to be chosen for at least five more years.

September 12th 2266 the Unifying and Noble Houses attend the ceremony of ascension where Lady Asher Stern, granddaughter of Imperator Celestine Stern will ascend to the same authority of her predecessor and be charged with leading the growing Hegemony further than even Imperator Celestine. Despite the rejection of some nobles, all have come regardless to show their support in the young lady.
The coronation begins after hours of speeches, honours and other such traditions are held, High Lord Hernandez Osowicz tasked with crowning the new Imperator. Among the highest honours which can be given to a noble. Before the oaths can be said the Palace feeds cut out and gunfire echoes throughout Unity City.
September 13th 2266 Rouge elements of House Stern, Minor Nobles and even some Greater Nobles hoping to make a name for themselves flock under the banner of High Lord Reikhardt Stern as he and his brigades of “Battle Armor” Elites quickly neutralize the capital’s defences.
October 3rd for weeks the battle raged on in the capital city, yet the forces of High Lord Ortel Osowicz along with the other Unifying forces, including the loyalist Stern guards reclaimed both the capital and arrested the insurrectionists within the Stern holdings. Lady Asher Stern was found alive within one of the emergency bunkers constructed over a century ago when nuclear war was still the norm. The thick walls and impenetrable doors protecting the Lady and many other nobles.
Despite the good news of Lady Asher surviving, both High Lord Hernandez Osowicz and High Lord Randulf Corax were found with their honour guards slaughtered the insurrectionist’s forces. Testimonies of the survivors of the attack all share the theme of the two High Lords along with their men buying the rest of the nobles time to escape to the bunker. Willing giving up their lives for the Hegemony.
High Lord Reikhardt Stern meanwhile was captured and stripped of his rank and titles, his assets seized and his coconspirators sharing the same fate. In the end, order was restored.
Or civil war and upheaval, also good, can't be too picky these days after all.
And then after long last, finally we have some shooty bits to admire!

The Celestine Class Destroyer Leader, named after her Highness Celestine Stern this Destroyer will lead the defensive bulk of our forces for some time. Equipped with redundant sensor suites, thick armour and enough control centres to ensure the vessel fights at 100% effectiveness. It is a testament to Hegemony engineering. One Celestine DL will lead a squadron of three Hernandez destroyers, to ensure redundancy within fleets and the ability to split off into multiple groups if necessary.

While the Celestine DL is focused on combat information and acting as a fleet coordinate the Hernandez needs not to worry about saving tonnage for large control centres. Instead, the Hernandez has been packed full of point defence systems, ammunition and crew quarters and some redundant fire control centres to allow the Destroyer to continuously fire anti-missile and fighter munitions without halting.

Named after one of the exemplary generals of House Osowicz pre-unification the Lanwin class is not rated to go far from home, designed specifically as a trade protector it will be amongst the first ships to take to the stars and deployed all across Sol to ensure each planet is protected from external attack. With its high speed, it’s hoped it’ll perform well against opponents.
Fairly basic but it should get the job done and at least on defense can support the DD squadrons adequately. Overall the empire should feel secure in its position...for now.
