Title: Jump engines vs Jumpoint Stabilizer

Is there a difference in the working of the 2 types, yes I know one is on ship and one is in space.

But if a ship using a stabilizer, will it turn up in the center of the warppoint?

A jump engine will drop you more or less random within its jump radius?

IF its like the 2 statements what happens if a ship with jumpengins jumps thrue a stabilzed wormhole, do they appear in the middle or will they appear random?

When a jump point is stabilised any ship can do standard transfer, which allows you to design ships without jump drives.
Standard transfer dumps the ships always at the centre of the jump point on the other side.

Squadron transfer will dump the ships in a random place within X radius of the JP, Squadron transfer can't be done without a jump drive, but you only need to use squadron transfer if the JP is guarded on the other side.

afaik, there is no difference in how squadron transfer works on stabilised and not stabilised JP.

A transit through a stabilized point without the assistance of a jump engine is supposed to have even more jump shock than a standard transit. So that's something to bear in mind if you're ever fighting across a stabilized point.

(Also for completeness, whether the point is stabilized or not any fleet can make a standard transit if there is a friendly ship present at either end of the point with an engine capable of jumping the ships of the fleet. Even engines that are 'self only' size.)

Mmm, was thinking a bit ahead for warp point defence, having a bit of Pestcontrol and they have jump engines, with about 1 million disperse pattern, well outside my beam armed bases... So by building a jump point stabilizer I hoped they "had" to usa that instead of there jumpengines.

Ohh well we have to test this "theory".
