Post by: waresky on November 09, 2009, 02:39:35 PM
ok,another stupid Naval question:

the first are Class Design and Second are same ships but SHIPS Design..check ANNUAL FAILURE RATE and pls answer WHY r this ENORMOUS difference.

Code: [Select]
Discovery IV E class Science Vessel    5000 tons     456 Crew     1545.4 BP      TCS 100  TH 180  EM 0
1800 km/s    JR 3-50     Armour 1-26     Shields 0-0     Sensors 1/408/3/1     Damage Control Rating 4     PPV 0
Annual Failure Rate: 50%    IFR: 0.7%    Maintenance Capacity 1773 MSP    Max Repair 714 MSP

J5000(3-50) Military Jump Drive     Max Ship Size 5000 tons    Distance 50k km     Squadron Size 3
Ion Engine E8 (3)    Power 60    Fuel Use 80%    Signature 60    Armour 0    Exp 5%
Fuel Capacity 600,000 Litres    Range 270.0 billion km   (1736 days at full power)

EM Detection Sensor EM17-408 (40%) (1)     Sensitivity 408     Detect Sig Strength 1000:  408m km
Gravitational Survey Sensors (3)   3 Survey Points
Geological Survey Sensors (1)   1 Survey Points

This design is classed as a military vessel for maintenance purposes

and now..
Code: [Select]
Discovery IV E class Science Vessel 5000 tons     456 Crew     1545.4 BP      TCS 100  TH 180  EM 0
1800 km/s    JR 3-50     Armour 1-26     Shields 0-0     Sensors 1/1/3/1     Damage Control 4     PPV 0
Annual Failure Rate: 985% !!!!!!!!!!!!    IFR: 13.7%    Maintenance Capacity 1773 MSP

J5000(3-50) Military Jump Drive     Max Ship Size 5000 tons    Distance 50k km     Squadron Size 3
Ion Engine E8 (3)    Power 60    Fuel Use 80%    Armour 0    Exp 5%

Gravitational Survey Sensors (3)   3 Survey Points
Geological Survey Sensors (1)   1 Survey Points

Repair Cost: 714

This design is classed as a military vessel for maintenance purposes

I noticed this too, I think that the Annual Failure Rate increases as the 'Clock' increases for each ship. So, if you put that ship in for an overhaul you will see the Annual Failure Rate decrease.
