Capturing her wasn't particularly hard. I dropped six Marine Battalions on her, through a window in her shields provided by the 300mm railguns of my
Rheinland-class strike cruisers. I wasn't sure about the effect of active shields on boarding attempts, so I didn't take any chances. The boys conquered her in one 5-minute combat round. Perfect drop (20000 km/s vs. <1000 km/s) and perfect performance: zero casualties.
It was exciting and disappointing at the same time. The first time you ever board a vessel from a given race is always thrilling. However, the sense of fear of the unknown vanishes once you suddenly know all the nuts and bolts of your enemy. In addition, I was expecting the mothership to look less... ship-like. Since I don't think you're even supposed to capture Star Swarm creatures, I can forgive the components' generic names.
However, just for fun and possibly an easter egg, I'm suggesting more organic-sounding component names. Not as descriptive as the default ones, but intermediate players should be able to deduce their purpose from the stats next to the names. I hope the biotechnobabble is satisfactory.
