United Nations Enclave - Scenario
« on: March 02, 2024, 08:55:41 AM »

In the year 1980, humanity bore witness to a revelation that would forever alter the course of its cosmic understanding. Nestled within the asteroid belt of our solar system, a colossal structure resembling a ring was discovered. The implications of this monumental find sparked intrigue and speculation across the globe. It was an enigma waiting to be unraveled, a beacon beckoning humanity to explore the depths of space with renewed fervor.

Thanks to the concerted efforts of the United Nations, a decade later, an expedition was launched to explore this celestial marvel. The intrepid crew returned bearing astonishing samples of materials, leading to the revelation of Trans-Newtonian Minerals—a quantum leap in our comprehension of space and resources.

In the year 2002, humanity witnessed a technological milestone as the first spacecraft powered by the new propulsion system set sail from our shores. With this breakthrough, the once-inaccessible corners of our solar system became within reach, beckoning explorers to venture forth into the unknown.

Efforts to decipher the mysteries of the colossal structure surged ahead with unprecedented momentum. Years of tireless research and innovation culminated in a breakthrough in 2005, unveiling the true nature of the structure: a gateway to another stellar system, christened "Procul Astrum"—Latin for "Distant Star."

Under the auspices of the United Nations, humanity established its first colony within the uncharted realms of Procul Astrum. The colony stood as a testament to human ingenuity and the indomitable spirit of exploration, fostering hope for a future where the boundaries of our existence extended far beyond the confines of our own solar neighborhood.

However, tragedy struck on May 13, 2024, at 4:10 AM. Both the gates within our solar system and in Procul Astrum suffered a catastrophic malfunction, shattering the dreams of interstellar cooperation and exploration. The event sent shockwaves through the scientific community and beyond, casting a pall of uncertainty over the future of humanity's cosmic ambitions.

As humanity grapples with the aftermath of this unforeseen calamity, questions linger about the true nature of the gates, their origin, and the implications of their collapse. Yet, amid the debris of shattered hopes and dreams, the indomitable spirit of exploration endures, inspiring future generations to seek answers among the stars and to forge new paths toward understanding the universe that surrounds us.

Now, as the leader of a community severed from its native planet, you stand at the forefront of an entirely new challenge. In the wake of the catastrophic failure of the gates, a sense of isolation pervades the once-thriving colony within Procul Astrum. Cut off from the familiar embrace of Earth, the inhabitants of this enclave find themselves adrift in the vast expanse of space, grappling with uncertainty and fear.

In response to the crisis, the United Nations Enclave has been established as a beacon of hope and resilience in the face of adversity. As its appointed leader, the weight of responsibility falls squarely upon your shoulders. Guiding your people through the trials ahead will demand courage, ingenuity, and unwavering resolve.

Yet, amidst the uncertainty, there exists a glimmer of possibility—a chance to forge a new destiny among the stars, to build a society that transcends the boundaries of old. The journey ahead will be fraught with challenges, but it is also brimming with opportunity. May wisdom and perseverance light your path as you navigate the uncharted territories.

It is one year later. Will you find the gate creators? Will you find a way back to Earth?... Good luck.
