And I'm back! Decided to go ahead and start a game afresh after the corruption of my old copy of Aurora and the attendant loss of a Red Solstice-themed game. With that said, here's my next fleet list, based on that classic of 90's Sci-Fi, Space; Above and Beyond. (All designs done on the basis of no maintenance needed)
Main Combatants - 2063
The Constellation-class CV is the backbone of UN spatial operations, built to a former US design that has since been shared between the major nation-states of Earth. Each ship is capable of bearing a full five squadrons of Condor endo-exo atmospheric fighters and is loaded with nearly two reloads for its full wing and more than enough fuel to sustain fighter operations for weeks. In addition, the class comes equipped as standard with a pair of twinned gauss turrets for self-defence purposes, and a suite of passive sensors for emergency use. Plans are already in place for a new Saratoga-class strike carrier designed to complement the Constellation-class. (And I just realised it's ECCM I've put on the Constellation, not ECM. Ah well, I'll fix it another time)

Much as with the Constellation-class Carrier that bears it into battle, the Condor sits at the unified heart of UNEF fighter operations. Each Condor is equipped with a handful of the launchers typically seen on the Japanese Chitose-class Cruiser, equipped with the same Rattler missile used by the true warships of the UNEF fleet. Though equipped with a miniaturised fire-control system that cuts the effective range of the Rattler by 50%, UNEF and subsidiary commands have refused to design a missile that better fits this engagement range, citing the desire to conduct coordinated strikes with long-range fire if possible. So far there are no plans to replace the Condor unless one of the High Command's member-states can submit a superior design.

The Russian-designed Borodino-class Cruiser is a mainstay of the UNEF's ship combatants, so much so that even some of the other powers have united to buy licences for the design from the Federation. Equipped with a conventional rack of eight tubes for its own Rattler Mk4's and just over twelve salvoes for the launchers, the Borodino also comes equipped with a pair of FireCon systems for the tubes due to the risk that that battle-damage could strip the ship of its main long-ranged weapon. As well as this, the Borodino carries a trio of turreted 150mm UV pulse lasers designed to provide mid-range firepower and as a backup to the onboard missile tubes. Each of these turrets has been created to track fast-moving targets in anticipation of the day sensor technology and general engine speed catches up. Lastly, each Borodino carries a full electronic warfare suite as well as passive sensors so as not to give away its own position.

Effectively a sister design to the Borodino, the Chitose is a Japanese-originated vessel focused on completely dominating the early stages of any engagement. Unlike its sister, the Chitose swaps out the eight full-scale launchers and capacious magazines for a battery of ninety-four Phalanx MkIII Cells. While this dramatically cuts back on the design's viability past its initial alpha strike, it allows for that selfsame alpha strike to be completely devastating when needed, though in practise the individual MkIII Cells are split between the two FireCon to allow for serial strikes from the Chitose without interrupt. As with its sister-class, the Chitose mounts a short-range weapon system in the shape of a pair of 200mm railguns. While shorter-ranged than the UV Pulse Lasers of the Borodino, the railguns allow for more rounds on target in a similar timeframe. Again, just like the Borodino, the Chitose mounts a full electronic warfare suite as well as passive sensors so as not to give away its own position.

Unlike its larger compatriots, the British-designed Ravelin-class is aimed mostly at preserving the other ships of the UNEF, carrying a formidable battery of missile tubes for the Locust MRIM. The Locust serves a dual-purpose as both anti-missile and anti-fighter defence, and so each Ravelin carries enough for a protracted engagement. Due to the nature of the threat the Ravelin is built to face, the Spitter M1A batteries are tied to a total of four FireCon's, allowing three tubes to be allocated to each FireCon. However, this is not their only armament; out of concern that a Ravelin would be otherwise unable to contribute to an engagement, the RN elected to add a handful of MkIII Cells to allow it some small ability to contribute to direct-combat. As with its larger siblings, the Ravelin carries a full suite for electronic warfare and passive sensors.
