CIWS and fighters

Hmm, got a scary thought about my close in attacks with fighters... Does CIWS engage fighters if they close within 1000km?? :-\

Only missiles attacking the ship it's mounted on.
Also, ingame, point blank range is probably calculated as 10k already.

UnLimiTeD is correct on both counts.

Nothing prevents the AI for building ships/PDC's with Gauss Cannon Turrets which are very deadly to fighters at those ranges.  Also consider that it's been my experience that the AI will engage fighters with missiles at range.
