I can't seem to get the filters to work. >__<

I went on a Distant Worlds binge recently, it has a neat auto-namer that combines preset words with the name of a major colony etc. in your empire.  So if you had 'Luna' in your empire, it might create ships called "Luna Star", "Luna Explorer", "Luna Adventurer", "Defender of Luna", "Victory at Luna", etc.

Thanks Steve  :)

I found another site (hxxp: www. fas. org/man/dod-101/sys/ship/names. htm) that explains how the American ships are named, useful for military and merchant vessels if someone is playing with American Empire theme.

Also, it turns out if you sign up for a free account you can track the locations of passenger ships around the globe (if you really want to :))

I know Aurora isn't really short of ship names :) but if you wanted to name your freighters and colony ships individually (as I am now doing in my latest test campaign for five different powers - geek alert!), I just found a great site that lists all real world merchant ships. You can filter by nationality and type.
