Quite a few of my campaigns are Anglo-centric, so I decided to have only non-Anglo countries and avoid any unconscious bias.

I think that's a good idea.  I'm thinking about doing a second player race in my own campaign, and I have to be careful not to be biased.

It is super difficult to not be biased... no matter what you do it will bite you in the butt eventually...  ;)

It is still super fun with multiple nations, so many fun options and combinations to test and try out.

Yeah.  In my current campaign, I want an opponent who can push my empire to the breaking point, but it's hard to objectively evaluate my fleet strength and avoid pulling back at the last second.  Thankfully, the arena has been helpful with working out flaws in my designs and learning their limits.

I'm rooting for the Chinese.  I just know those glow-in-the-dark, cave-dwelling, bombed-back-to-the-stone-age peasants will be able to turn things around!

I've tried that, but always just end up with a different flavour of consciously picking on the french.
But it's good to give someone else a go, can't let Britain and Germany get all the fun.

If the goal was to avoid bias, why did the Chinese get blown up again?  :P

That seems a little perverse, we all know what happens to China in Steve's games, even when he tries to tweak it to balance out their luck!
