How do I design a STO base?
« on: April 18, 2020, 08:36:49 AM »
I'm trying to build a STO beam weapon, but I'm doing something wrong.

On the ground design tab I select Static with medium armour.
I then add a STO weapon, but the frame on the right that should allow me to select a specific weapon stays blank.

I've got Gauss, Meson and Laser weapons designed, but I dont get th eoption to add them.

What am I doing wrong?

This sounds like a bug, if i reproduce your steps it shows my Laser and Gauss Weapons as wells as my Gauss Turret

Did you actually research any actual weapons and/or turrets and not just designed them?

In the ship section designed weapons will show up but only as prototypes if you don't actually research them, they don't show up in the ground unit section if you don't actually research the weapon.

Are STOs restricted to turrets only then?

No

Then what do I need to design to make them able to shoot missiles? I only have those weapons researched but the weapon types for STO weapon modules keep staying empty.

It's not empty for me. So you created a particle beam, researched it, and it does not appear on the STO screen? It worked for me in 1.63.

I didnt research particle beams.  I researched a missile+launcher+FC.  Arent those feasible for STO?

Now you solved my issue.  Thank you very much :)

Time to design towable missile platforms then!
