Bit of an odd situation here. Because of how I set up my game, with many NPRs on earth, and myself with only a small presence there, I ended up losing control of earth entirely. This was fine, I saw it coming and had already moved everything offworld while my poor troops fought a rearguard action.

All well and good, at that point. But then I found something a bit odd. Suddenly my civilians stopping spawning...entirely. I effectively had no 'capital' to connect things to, and soon retreated completely outside of the Sol system. It's been 70 years since then...still no civilians. Am I missing an obvious button to create a new capital?

I have a planet with more then 3 billion population on it currently, and several other planets with over 300 million. Is this just something no one planned for?

I forgot the 'New Capital' button. I'll add for v1.12.

Due to his new campaign, It seems that Steve will have to solve this bug soon...

At least in 1.12

True enough, but my guess is that I could have switched things over if I had done it BEFORE I lost the homeworld. At least, that's my random guess at it. Haven't tried that yet, but it would explain how it snuck in.

It should be fixable in the DB.
I'm not aware of any SM command to do so though.

Basically the PopulationID needs to point to your new home planet.

Heh, I'm afraid DB editing is a bit beyond me, at least without a fairly clear guide on how to do it. The game being lost isn't the worst outcome, I suppose. Hopefully Steve sees the bug report, so nobody else must suffer on the spikes as well.

How many colonies with people on it do you have?

You may need to kick start the civilians again. Also is your admin command still showing Earth? If so I think that could be related as well.

Two in the same system, four others further out, counting only populated planets.

Now the admin command...that's an interesting possibility. I'm not even sure how to switch an admin command like that. At least not a civilian one.

Edit:Well...that's weird, I can't even switch my naval command over. According to it there are zero host populations. And yes, my main colony does have 3 naval headquarters. Very strange indeed.

Well crap, I think I really screwed myself here.

[EDIT:] There is 3 games in the DB you posted on the bug thread. I assume it is the one called Exodus?

That button is not implemented in C version.

Yes, I suspect that is the case, but was this intentional?

Well most likely one of the things that were not implemented to get game to us sooner.

Does your large colony have a Spaceport?  Civilians require one to spawn from.

Yep, sure does. I'll even build a second one, to make sure.

Try looking for it with space master turned on.

First thing I did. Also checked every other screen that I could think of.

That button is not implemented in C version.

Do you have civilians turned off in your game settings?

No, very much not. It cheerfully making civilians prior to losing my homeworld.

Nope, already looked there. All I have is:

Rename Pop
Academy Name
Pop as Text
All Pop as Text
Empty Exempt
Independence
Delete Pop
Delete Empty

It's either somewhere else, or it's not in. Or there is some requirement to get it to show up, I suppose.
