I had the exact same issue, Steve.

I'm pretty sure the OP is referring to windows such as Economics, Research, et al.

I fixed it by unchecking the 'hide unsupported resolutions' box on the 'Monitor' tab under 'Advanced' in settings and selecting 1920x1200.

Even then I still had to set my taskbar for autohide.

Are you using large fonts?

Ok, I installed version 4.75 of Aurora and set my resolution to 1280x1024, and part of the starting window is still cut off. I'm running windows XP with a geforce 8600 and a 22" monitor, if that helps. Anyway, what could be the problem?
