It is a 1 planet start with an average of 500,000 RPs, and an average population of 750 million, as well as 6 shipyards on average. The setup is very plain and boring, but the launch of civilian shipping immediately triggers aggression.
Our story will mostly follow the 1st Royal Guard Battalion, and Shogun Mitsurugi Mei (MM), the commander of the Empire of Japan forces, and the Akagi-kyu Carrier 'Izanagi', and Kaigun Shosho, Kusanagi Ryo (KR), who writes the following report:
KR:
The Akagi-kyu Izanagi is not truly a fighting vessel. Somewhere between a support vessel, and a point defense, it is still a masterpiece of General Electronic and Fugaki Heavy Industries engineering.
With 6 layers in 70 sections of armor and 8 Type 145b Quad Gauss Turrets, it is an unkillable beast. Though the Type 145 CIWS itself is an inaccurate adaptation off of the TSF models, the reduced size allows to fit 3 or 4 of these turrets, in place of just 1. It is specially designed to engage fast missiles, and the initial design document of the Nagato II Planetary Bombardment Center, features these turrets as a self defense mechanism.
Izanagi's escorts consist of the Zuikaku-kyu Destroyer, with the older Type 120 CIWS:
And the Ise-kyu Frigate with the newer Type 145b CIWS:
The Imperial Royal Guard has exclusive access to the Type 00 Takemikazuchi iTSF, and only the C variant is public knowledge even to myself:
The Type 99f Kyokkou, or 'Aurora' NATO classification, is also exclusive use to the Royal Guard, but plans are to supplement Navy forces with it, to replace the FJ-06a Himei, or 'Scream'. It's specifications are mostly classified:
As for the Himei and Shiranui, I do not know the exact specifications, but they say that the Shiranui Improved is a 6th generation TSF that far surpasses the Himei and Kyokkou in speed and maneuverability, and in that department, even the Takemikazuchi.
Our battle doctrine revolves around deploying the Destroyer Escorts to close in swiftly with enemies, and and barrage them with the 120mm tungsten penetrators, in assistance with the Frigate point blank PD. Once the TSFs close in as well, the business is mostly finished. The Shiranui is rumored to be twice as fast as the Destroyers, so our doctrine may well change in the future. Japan's vast Sorium deposits has seen us turn away from the Saturation-Type attacks of our western 'allies', and this reflects in our lack of missiles and range. Fuel Efficiency was not something we considered in the long run, but now that High Command demands that we perform Seek & Destroy operations against the BETA, we have no choice but to reinvestigate our fuel consumption situation.
This concludes my report.
