Xenoarcheology

I cannot find an option to build a xenoarcheology team.  I have an officer who is quite capable but I don’t know how to assign him to a team so he can investigate a ruined outpost.  Does anyone know how to do it?

Ok, I researched the xenoarcheology tech and dropped a detachment on the planet. Should I just wait now?

How did you drop it on the planet? Did you have to declare the planet a colony? Or did you combat drop?

I have a geosurvey group set to do my first geosurvey, and the troop transport can't put them down. It does not have combat drop capability.

You need to declare the planet a colony to land any Ground Forces
The Sorium must flow
