Standing Orders and NPR Systems
« on: May 08, 2020, 11:24:31 PM »
Here is the situation:
I have found the Home System of an NPR.
This system is not surveyed (geo or grav)
My Geo and Grav Survey ships are setup with a secondary standing order of "Move to System Requiring ****survey" to ease micromanagement.
They constantly try to move to the NPR Home System (which i have decided to leave alone for RP reasons)

My question is:
Is there some way to stop my ships from trying to survey the NPR System?

I have tried to set the System as Military Restricted (in the Galactic Map) and alse to Block Fleet Movement Auto Route (also in Galactic Map)
Neither seem to have worked (which makes sense, since the survey ships are military and thus bypass the restriction, and are not using the Auto Route feature in their movement)
I looked at the change log for standing orders here:
hxxp: aurora2.  pentarch.  org/index.  php?topic=8495.  msg106824;topicseen#msg106824
But did not see any way to limit the system they will search.

I also know that you can ban system bodies, but this might be tedious in systems with many bodies, cannot be done for grav survey location and would only prevent the ships from surveying anything (they would still move to the system)

Thanks.

In fleet screen you can check a box for whether they ignore or respect restricted space, per fleet.  I think on the movement order screen?

Just make sure that on the Galactic Map you also select the system you want avoided and mark it as under the control of the alien race

+1 for this
interested to know if possible or if we can add it in the wishlist as a feature of 'dont touch/go in this system at all'

You could manually specify which systems to survey, at least long enough to get them out of the 'neighbourhood' of the NPR.
