Odd folders at my root directory
« on: November 07, 2011, 01:53:34 PM »
Aurora seems to be creating files at c:\, specifically, a "Logs" folder with a subfolder for each of my games and a bunch of text files that contain event data, including that on alien races I can't see as a player. (i.e, reports on alien shipyards adding new slips, etc.)

The game itself is installed quite a few folders deep on the c:\ drive. I have no idea why it's creating logs at the root all of a sudden.

I'm not sure if this is a "bug" or a "new user question", so I figured I'd post it here.

It creates the logs for every game created. The files are created in the root of the drive the game is installed on. Working as intended.

Well, OK. I guess I just never noticed it before.

Wouldn't it make more sense to make them in the game folder, though?

May just be the path Steve used when creating the logs, wonder if it is relative or absolute.

This could also be the cause of some errors people are having, if Aurora is trying to create files on C but gets permission errors.
