- If those missiles are for anti-ship they're lacking in punch, however with 27 of them they might be able to do some work against fighters and/or FACs. Not my favorite part of the ship to be sure. That said, the extra layer of armor helps IMMENSELY against return fire from Size 1 to Size 3 missiles, as a warhead of 4 is the minimum needed to punch through a hull that sports only a single layer of armor. With two layers of armor, a warhead of the same strength will open a hole, but it won't penetrate. Rather you would need a strength 9 warhead to punch through a two layer armor scheme.
- Shock damage is still a factor, and doubly so for C#, but it's good to stop internal damage. Likewise 10cm Railguns, which are the most common ones seen mounted to fighters, and strength 2 Particle Beams, the most commonly used of the line, will not deal internal damage. They
will open a hole in the hull, but in the case of that railgun, that's 0 points of internal damage taken versus 4 points. Since this is a survey ship, commerce raiders are the most likely foes you should be fending off, NPRs notwithstanding... a typical NPR will eat this ship for breakfast.
- Of note, you have 3 missiles too many.
