How does one actually gene-mod?

So, I give up.  I've looked everywhere I can think of on the UI. . . and I can't for the life of me find where to order genetic modification to begin.  I have the centers, I've researched the new race, but I can't get them to start doing it.

Anyone have guidance?

Ah, was that mentioned anywhere? I've been looking back through all the changelogs trying to find something.  If it's not mentioned. . . might it be considered a bug? Just in that are we sure Steve is aware that it isn't in? UI bugs are possible.

Build Genetic Modification Centres, design new Whatevers, 'build' such people in GMCs.

Yes.  .  .  I've done that before in VB6, my question was literal 'how'.   As in, where in the UI can one access this to order the GMCs to 'build' the people. 

In VB6 the button was in the environment tab.  It does not appear to be there anymore.  Nor anywhere else I can find.

and I too tried and looked and could not find it so I gave up an assumed it's not added in yet cause it's not an important feature.

Genetic modification has been added to the list of known issues. So it's confirmed that it is intentionally disabled for now.
