If you click the help button at the top of the Galactic map it brings up a sidebar view that explains the drag and drop options. Its a little out of date but you will get the idea. A right-click menu has also been added which you access by right-clicking on any system. Its useful (among other things) for lining up systems and saving their positions.

You might set the grid to 8 instead of the default 4, then align before saving so everything is all pretty

<Shift> <Left Click> Drag the systems where you want them.

Attention! Save the position before closing the map, or you?ll have to do it all over again

On THe Galactic Map, how do you move the  representation of systems, so that they are not overlapping.
