I find alien ruins so rarely, and having a colony on that body is even more rare, so I don't have any personal experience.

No, that's not the case.  My colony in question has 40 million pop, xeno survey completed, and it still has abandoned installations remaining.  It also has a spaceport.
Zero Ancient Artifacts being produced.

Oh!  I just remembered!  There is definitely a point at which alien ruins start producing alien artifacts trade goods, and I believe it requires both a finished Xeno survey, and a colony of at least ten million population on the alien ruin system body.  It may also require a spaceport.

I don't think that's a bug.  I'm pretty sure the intention was that alien ruins would only generate artifacts while being exploited.

So is it still the case that Ancient Ruins never generate Ancient Artifacts, even if the ruins are deciphered BUT left untouched by construction units?  I have three 25 million+ colonies that have a couple hundred abandoned installations each but none of them are reporting that Ancient Artifacts are being generated.  I thought this was fixed a couple builds ago.
