Garfunkel,

Thanks - that did it - the box on the tactical map now shows bodies with minerals.

By the way  - on refreshing the display a white box appeared in the middle of the screen  with the name of my ship and a X to close the box - is this normal or a bug?

The minerals tab on the Tactical Map does not refresh automatically. You have to refresh it manually. You can use either of the two drop-down menus to do it: the one where you select which faction to control or the one to select which system you're looking at.

There are no mineral finds showing in the event log and have closed the mineral box but all that shows is Earth with minerals - the vessel is travelling through the asteroid belt - the display shows bodies having minerals but nothing appears in print.

My vessel has a Commander with Survey bonus and has 2 Geo Survey Sensors on board.

Another thing, you don't want to have your mineral bodies window open while it surveying is going on.  Have it closed.   Pause (or wait for pause) and then open it.   Close it when you are done.   This way it will always refresh with the new information each time you open it.

I seem to be going round in circles and will shortly end up like the Oozlum bird.

My Geo Survey ship has left Earth and is surveying nearest bodies. Now although the screen shows that there are minerals on various bodies ( concentric circles ) the minerals text screen on the left still only shows Earth as having any minerals.

Please , what am I missing now ?

It should work correctly. Are you using comma as decimal separator? You should use period. That could be a problem.

Steve changed em both to be military. On the upside you can now make a ship with both and not feel bad about maint.

Another daft question - I thought that Geo Survey vessels were classified as Commercial whilst Grav Survey vessels were Military . I have just designed a Geological Survey vessel and the Design screen has labelled this as a military vessel for maintenance purposes . Is this correct?

You have to research Jump Point Theory first to unlock them in the sensors

Just started under Aurora C# v1.50 .

I can find and Research Geological Survey Sensors for my first vessel - but how or where do I find Gravitational Survey Sensors ? I have looked everywhere.
