Hello,
As few of you may know, I'm working on an Age of Sail themed playthrough for YouTube, in a semi-multiplayer fashion with 7 other content creators, more information of which might be available in a few days, but into the actual topic.
For said series, I'll have a galaxy modelled after various bodies of water on Earth and a couple of over-land/river routes for balance reasons. I've now managed to get a version of the galaxy done. I'm not perfectly happy with it, but due to time constraints, it'll have to suffice. In case anyone wants to play on it or improve on it, I'm attaching it here.
Few words about the galaxy:
There's only one race present atm (Neutrals), based in Sol, which has no jump points in it, the system is left there mainly for debugging purposes.
There are 53 other systems, which form a closed loop with no jump points leading outside the "globe".
Start year is 1699, due to my own goals.
There are a lot of habitable planets and some systems have made into a fairly good detail while others have been made with a lot less care.
Each system has a "barrier" of asteroids, generally beyond the jump points.
All jump points have been stabilized, if you prefer to play without them, you can remove them in SM.
I can only guarantee it to work on 1.9.x and I have no intention to update it to future versions (I've already had plenty of problems with the updates regarding this
)
If you want to play the map, go ahead!
If you use it to make your own (probably improved) map and share it, feel free! I would appreciate a bit credit for my dozens of hours though.
Hopefully, this will be a pleasant surprise to your Mondays.
