If your GFCF are ever idle, then you aren’t building enough troops.

This is 120% true and I have the numbers to prove it.  :P

Ah got it, was kinda hoping they'd use the GFCFs to i guess. . . autobuild back up to strength.  Good to know, thanks.
Yeah, I thought the same thing when I first read that Steve was implementing a replenishment system for ground units.
I actually made a thread about this in the suggestions forum yesterday:

…or transfer elements manually.
How does one do that?
In the ground forces screen (on the default order of battle tab), click the checkbox for "show elements" (and "amount popup" if you know you're splitting stacks of things). Then you can expand formations and drag elements to other formations.

Do I have to manually build other units and set them to 'use for reinforcements'?

Yes. There is a checkbox in the ground units window which you can use to set specific formations to be used for replacements.

I think what many players do after a battle is use their most damaged formations to replace losses in the others, which will usually not replenish exactly but you can get most units close to full strength with a little left over, and later ship a dedicated replenishment formation to the theater and top your formations off.

Okay so first post here, but I've been lurking for a few weeks.

Took on some Raksahs, got pile driven back into the TTs, now I'm off to Terra to lick my wounds.

Only. . . my units don't reinforce? They're on planet with a GFCF, but they don't seem to want to rebuild.

Do I have to manually build other units and set them to 'use for reinforcements'? I've hunted and searched (yes units are in a series) but can't find anything.

Much obliged for any help.
