I've never yet got over 100,000 tons for a yard even in the new civilian rules! I tend to set up standard small and large freighter types at the start and then fit most changes into the same basic templates as far as possible, so they dont tend to grow or change much over time
I had a lot of problems posting the reply for some reason, It took four attempts over a 1.5 hour period, and the one that finally got thru did not have all the points I had been trying to make in the original attempt as well as the use that Steve mentioned of off loading excess fuel to a nearby moon if it happens to get full.
However with something as big as you have, I dont think that would be practical....and you have space for over 30 YEARS refining on that ship (assuming no-one refuels from it during that time)
