How many maximum number of systems have you setup at the start? I set 2356 :) Maybe too much.
...

Maximum number of systems has no effect in real stars games:

But this thread is dedicated to another theme. Better we move to

How many maximum number of systems have you setup at the start? I set 2356 :) Maybe too much. I leave you the screenshot of my game settings. I'm really thirsty of war after so many hours building economy and expanding. For now after 20 years I have 3 rising colonies close to Earth, and a fourth one is going to grow well a bit far away, as soon I setup there mine flow and fuel supplies, adding a spaceport and a base, I'll go aggressive with exploring in that direction :) Slowly going to research Ion Engine technology. But I have so few experience in combat, still.
I agree with you about the realistic side, never played a game so realistic, I'm feeeling so lonly in space :) Also, my fighter pilots ask every day for some action...

Concerning alien presence in the universe, shall I explore further?

IMHO, yes.
Just to compare your game to the one I'm running now:
known star systems, all modifiers as normal, 30% NPR creation for me, 20% for NPR, 20% minor races, only Precursors and Rakhas active, 20% Ruins.
After 90 years in the game, there are: 177 systems, 114 grav surveyed ones, much less geo, and I met: 1 Rakhas, 1 ruin outpost (discovered in the last year, so I still have to investigate it), 1 alien race in 4 systems (links between them are still undiscovered) with 2 confirmed populations until now (distances from Sol at 16.4, 16.6, 26.6 and 31.9 in real space).
The Galaxy is almost empty, up to now, but I feel it rather realistic in this way.

Did you add Sol to the Sol Sector in the Sectors Window?

I never did it: Sol was there when I opened that window (surely after building the Sector command on Earth).
And other nearby systems appear when I increase the Sector level.

Hello Aurora community, I got an issue assigning sector command too. It dosn't seem to be a matter of grade, I appointed the highest grade administrator as Sol sector command but still I see no commander on Industry tab. I'm doing something wrong? I have 2 sector command, 1 in Earth, 1 in Altair. Thanks guys :)

Ps. 20 year in game (increment of 1-5 days), 43 system explored and still haven't found an alien race (Npr).. I have 20% on research speed and setup 9 NPR at start, Npr generation chance is 30% for me, 10% for Npr. Space it feels empty and safe for now. Just had a couple of fights against defend system spoiler race, but I wanna test my fleeet (and fighters)!

It looks to me like your planatery governor outranks your sector governor. As your homeworld requires a rank 5 administrator your sector needs a rank 6 or they won't do anything

That was it, thanks!

Hi folks - I'm having some trouble assigning a sector commander. I've researched the tech and built a sector command, and assigned systems to the sector in the appropriate window.  When I go into the commander screen I can assign a commander to the sector (see the first attachment) but no commander will appear in the economics window (second attachment)
It doesn't seem to matter who I assign, no one will appear. Anyone have any ideas what's going on?
