I am currently running a two player game for an AAR, we're running in SM mode and watching the events window in SM mode too, whenever something noteworthy happens on the other end, we zip the save file and send it over. We try to handle things over IM, but timezones don't help matters. It's working ok so far.

No direct connection.
Im not sure just emailing is that doable seeing as everything happens simultaniously, and that would be very innefficient.

However, you could have your brother on msn or skype to tell you what he wants to do while you micromanage both empires and switch it up every in game year  or so.

Me and my brother want to play this together, but how would we? do we have to send the save file back and forth via email? or is there a direct connection avalible?
