I always play with the Norse names and the Fantasy Ship classes because that was as close as I could get. Although generally I made my own classes that were a little more common to DF: Rhesus, Macaque, Ocelot, Skeletal Whale...

« on: August 23, 2010, 04:13:15 PM »It's kind of hard to justify those as naval and army ranks, IMHO. And you've got the wrong number of army ranks, at least; probably naval ranks, too. And even the lowest-ranking officer is moderately high up there, in the big scheme of things; things like soapmaker and probably even adept don't really belong on the list.
Implementation aside, however, a DF theme is an excellent idea and I wholly endorse it.

There seems to be quite a crossover between playerbases for the two games, judging to the lenght of that thread.
Therefore, I would like to suggest a new commander theme: "Dwarf Fortress"
As for unit name Theme, I suppose it's possible to have DF's Random Name generator churn out a couple of thousands of dwarven names if required.
