Ver 1.03

Changes:
Tightened up search parameters for battles, although maintenance secondary explosions still are added to battles as there is no way to distinguish these from battle related damage.

These are the search parameters for it to be put in the battle sheet.

hit, points of damage, points of damage, Nuclear Detonation, target, intercepted, shields, ECM, fire, missile, absorb, ram, salvo, missed, contact, signature, firing, reload.

Now what i did not do it add spaces either side of the word meaning the case of Whitesell, she has "hit" apart of her name. And in the case of Ramiro he has ram in his name.

DOH!

Will fix this and put a new version up shortly

Windows 7 excel 2010. Great utility. So far it works well. I am very early into this game, several years only. Charts worked great.  Jumppoint and Unrest untested- no info in the log file to get.  I've had no battles yet but the Battle listing produced the following:

A team on Earth led by Aletha Whitesell has completed research into Ion Engine E8
A team on Earth led by Aletha Whitesell has completed research into J5000(3-100) Military Jump Drive
A team on Earth led by Aletha Whitesell has completed research into Ion Engine E8
A team on Earth led by Aletha Whitesell has completed research into Ion Engine E0.8
A team on Earth led by Aletha Whitesell has completed research into J6250(3-50) Military Jump Drive
Scientist Aletha Whitesell  has developed a medical problem that will affect his long term health. Current Assignment: Unassigned
A team on Earth led by Aletha Whitesell has completed research into Asteroid Mining Module
Ramiro Aune has joined your army officer corps.  Ground Combat 5%:  Promotion Score 25
A team on Earth led by Aletha Whitesell has completed research into Jump Gate Construction Module 150

Seemed kind of odd to me as I have 3 total scientists and several other army officers that have joined my army officer corps.

Mystery solved, well now you know about these logs I hope they help you in future. Wow you can learn something new about Aurora every day <wink>

It's on my D drive. I've got Aurora installed in D:\Games\Aurora and I have a D:\Logs directory.

I wanted to check if it was UAC stopping it, but it is not. So I ran a test.

1/ I created a new user (non administrator) on the computer and turned UAC on to full. I delete the C:\logs folder

2/ I then restarted, I then logged in as the user and started a new aurora game, I then proceed doing 30 day turns for about a year to generate some events logs, once I look into the windows directory there was a c:\logs folder created and a Y1,txt in the folder and another folder which was the name of the game I made.

This confirms that the folder creation is coming from the aurora .exe file somehow.

Eric I am not sure why your folder is not being created.

I am  a win 7 user and I have it, perhaps your right perhaps its also has to do with UAC (User Accounts Control) which I have turned off or always turn off.

Glad you got it working, I was starting to get worried I was slightly insane.

Maybe we can talk Steve into moving that to the installation directory.

Hi Eric

The log folder for me had never installed in the game directory always in c:\logs I am not sure why. my game directory is c:\aurora and got all the folders you have mentioned, except for game backup ofcourse.

Ok, I downloaded it and it works fine in Office 2007, after I figured out how to enable the macros.

I have a totally stock install of aurora on winxp and it does create a log folder and Yx files on c:\. Win 7 users won't have it there though, if they have it at all, because of the way 7 does drive security.

Thanks for making this!

Just downloaded Open Office, unfortunately I don't know it well enough to do a port at this stage, happy to work with anyone who does know open office macros, or perhaps, when I finished all the features for the excel version, I can try and dig my way through open office macros.

Other then myself has anyone got this excel file working as I am concerned, people do not have this y1,txt log files in the c:\logs folder, or it could be the folder called logs on the same level as your aurora game directory.

Please note: I made the excel document in Excel 2010, it should work on 2007, I am unsure if it will work in Open Office.

Ardem,

I just tried it and Open Office is not compatible for some reason. :-[  Looks pretty awesome though  :)

Adam.
