Hey guys.

I've been trying to wrap my head around Aurora for years, now but the game is so complicated that it's driving me mad :D

Just wondering if anybody could give me some advice on what to do.

Cheers :)

Colonized,Explore,Expand..

Besiege every JumpPoint..

Do no build Gate..

Build a mighty FAC's Systems Defenders (armed with Box launchers)

Speed and cloak them..:)

Good hunting out there.

Waresky out.

I agree you don't have to, but how could anyone resist.

Seriously, new features or another 800 systems to conquer. I know which one I choose.

TN. You'll be able to get some decent ops running fast, but with Conventional you need to build up your TN empire from near-scratch.

I've never had trouble with the Invaders... They have stalked a bit, but I've never had contact with one.

Thanks guys, I'll be sure to take a look :)

Should I go with a trans Newtonian or conventional empire?

TN is the default, Conventional is more of the advanced setting.

Seriously, this is a very broad question.

General hints:

-Switch "Invaders" off when creating a game, or they might come in after a year or two and whipe the floor with you :)  (you can switch them on later)

-Colonize a planet in your home system, to get civillian commerce started

-Build some defenses on your homeworld/in your home system (Planetary Defense Centers (PDCs) work well for this) to keep your people feel all well and happy.

-Keep an eye on your resources (TN minerals) and find a new source BEFORE you run out in your home system

-Be not afraid to ask stupid questions. We have all been there ;)
