i followed tutorial 4 perfectly.  but when i went to tutorial 5 and tried to make a ship.  the dropdown menus are always blank and i cant see the class of ship i made.  please help

I'll quote from where I responded to your post in the tutorial thread
Is your design bigger than the size of the shipyard?
Are you trying to tool a military design in a civilian shipyard?
Is the design marked as obsolete?
Are there any warnings shown on the lower right in the design window for the ship design?

Those are the only things that I can think of that would stop a design from showing up when retooling.

If you are sure none of the above apply, try hitting the refresh all button or closing and reopening the population and production window to force it to update, then try and retool.

1) is it the correct type of yard (military or commercial)
2) is it large enough to build your design?
3) did you "retool for selected class" before trying to build it?

remember that there are commercial and navy ship yards and also check the size of the ship that its equal to or less than the size of the yard...
