Conventional starts usually cover that base for me. Nothing says "You're in reserve" like being given command of an obselete Missile Base that couldn't shoot down a pigeon.

Me too, like they go into a reserve and you can reactivate them by paying a small amount of wealth or something.

Exactly. Of course, if they hit a retirement age, they should be retired. And it might introduce a bit of micromanagement, since I'd expect the auto-assign to pull from active duty first, then reserves.

Officers are retired at a specific age. They are riffed after 6-7 years.

Personally, I'd like to see a tech line linked to genetics that upped the retirement age. And some sort of mechanism for keeping those promising officers you don't currently have a slot anywhere for.

hi,

i guess everyone knows the spamm every 2 years or what you have choosen for command rotations(tour length->automated assignments).

i actualy dont want to see any of thouse msgs in the event updates, but i cant disable them without loseing the importand command assignements or officer updates.

here i would suggest to make two new typs for thouse specific msgs.

lets say command rotation for the command assignments
and retirement for the officer updates.
we would be able to filter thouse out then and keep the event updates cleaner =)

about the retirements, wouldnt it be better/quicker for the game to retire them quicker? like 3 years or even 2? instead of 6-7 years.
this should reduce some of the data bank needs for unused officers.
