Ah, ok.
Then I'll probably start the construction of my first flagship and some escorts for exploring.

Thanks for the fast answer.

Might want to explore with a smaller ship thats designed for long voyages, so he'll be out and about doing grav surveys for a while.  At least this way you won't accidently lose your flagship if you run across something too tough for you.. instead you'll lose a little scout ship.

Then you can come back and have your revenge.

Re timescales .

I started my v5.56 game as shown by the date of my first mdb save , on 29.8.2011 and I am now , nearly a year later , at stardate  13.12.2085. I must admit that I have the Star swarm and Invader options off , just having the Precursors and NPR's available to fight. Even so I have 347 known systems , surveyed 185 systems and have 15 colonies spread throughout the systems. There are also many systems which are controlled by the Precursors which I occasionally try to conquer.

The only down side to the long running game is the sometime very long wait whist the computer processes a 5 day turn ( the lag can be several minutes at the worst )

Like others I am eagerly awaiting  v5.7 but having spent so long with v 5.56 I may have to run 2 games at the same time.

Many thanks Steve for the game which , although without flashy graphics , can absorb hours of one's life.

Hi,

I just wanted to ask how long do games actually last?
I started 2012 and now I'm at 2042.

My first colony is now at cost 0 and I'm about to get myself Titan.
Even though I enjoy this infrastructure building it's getting a little bit boring.
No aliens, no attacks and I only got a few ships and let the civillian shipping line do the most work.
They got more ships than I do.  :P

So is it only me being slow as hell or is this normal?

Go exploring :)

Generally games get livelier once you leave the Sol system. This is not a fast game though. Especially if you are writing an AAR you could be playing the same game for several months in real life
