Or once you have done the refit for all PDC's of that class, you can unlock it and make alterations, then view each PDC in turn in the ship details window to change it to the altered design. This lets you keep crew grade and training levels.

You can just let it attempt the refit and after the costs are paid, SM out the old PDC and put in a new PDC.

There is an option for PDC refit in the industrial tab, but I've tried it a few times and near as I can tell it consumes resources but produces no result.

Oh I found some old topic from 2007 about this issue, but I thought that it is working now as there is an option for PDC refit in industrial tab. Thanks for the information.

There's been a long-standing issue that PDC cannot be refit.  AFAIK it hasn't been fixed.

That being said, a construction brigade has industrial output equivalent to a single factor.  So a they can do anything a factory can do (although they'll do it very slowly, since it will take a LOT of CB's to get a decent output).

I suspect that what you heard was about prefab PDC.  You build it on a planet with a lot of output as a prefab, then ship the parts (and some extra minerals) to a planet with low output, where it can be assembled at 1/10th the cost.

I read somewhere on this forum that Construction Brigade can build PDC and I would like to know if they can also refit it.
