While that's not a mechanic that's in... honestly it would be pretty awesome if it wasn't too difficult to code in. I tend to utilize a lot of fire controls on my designs, and this would streamline setting up new fleets.

In class design there is not an option for assigning weapons to fire controls.

On the Combat Assignment screen(F8) there are buttons to copy the assignments of the current ship to ships of the same class in the task group/system/empire.  No need to set each individual ship.

Is there a way to assign ships weapons to beam/missile fire controls at the design level, so that it doesn't have to be done at the individual ship level?
