As mentioned, all you really need is hangar space.  In the interest of proper design and reasonable role-playing I include some engineering space and maintenance storage, missile magazines, etc.   Also some barracks for defense.

I usually build a single, huge fighter based PDC on my homeworld, mainly for storage.  Colonies get a smaller, specific design for one older squadron.

You cant train fighter in pdc, you need a small mag and fuel tank to hold some reload if you want to reload them in the pdc or you can just reload and refuel em on the planet then land em in pdc so they dont have maintenaince problem. It your choice

What facilites do I need to include in my PDC design if I want it to host, launcher and recover fighters (fuel storage, magazines, spare berths etc)?

Can I train fighter squadrons when they are based on PDCs, or do I need to rotate squadrons onto carriers for fleet training?
