Did you extract all of the flags archives? I believe there are two that are zipped but not extracted during install.

I'm having a similar issue.  I've downloaded the latest version of the game with AcidWeb's Portable Launcher, and I always get that error popping up when i open the galactic map.  I've even downloaded older versions and copied extra flags in, nothing.  It's not game breaking, but it is annoying, since it does make it rather hard to remember whats where.

There are no extra flag folders to extract with the download I had for the 6. 21.

Please verify if you are using AcidWeb's Portable Launcher Utility.  It is missing some flag files.

Also, are you using a default start, or a custom empire?

I am able to reproduce this.  I get error 75 twice, then it continues normally.  Running Aurora under strace, I can see it access the following paths when it opens the galactic map:
c:/Program Files/Aurora/Flags/flag0000.jpg
c:/Program Files/Aurora/Flags/
c:/Program Files/Aurora/Flags/
c:/Program Files/Aurora/Flags/flag0081.jpg
c:/Program Files/Aurora/Flags/flag0161.jpg
c:/Program Files/Aurora/Flags/flag0068.jpg
c:/Program Files/Aurora/Flags/flag0028.jpg
c:/Program Files/Aurora/Flags/flag0060.jpg
Installing the flag files not in PU has no effect.
This is in a game with a custom race and non-sol start.  I had a little trouble with empire generation.  I suspect either two borked attempts at empire generation left some remnants in the database, or NPC's can somehow be assigned "" as the flag file name.  My normal start game does not exhibit this problem.

Hi

I have v 6. 21, but am seeing a problem with the galactic map view.  When I open the view I get an 'error 76, Path not found flags\' message.  I do have the flags subdirectory in the same folder as the game exe as installed.  Any ideas?
