An orbital mass driver could be incredibly efficient with energy and get the ship up to a significant fraction of light speed very quickly. You still have to slow the ship down at the other end which is the hard part but even that you could use the same mass driver.
OK, so colonisation is going to be an extremely slow process, cool. I must say after taking a look at what you have shown us I am deeply impressed.
