I've found a solution with the help of third party hotkey software  :D

Unfortunately, I have one of the newer Macbooks that removed the embedded numpad functionality.   Regardless, I'll find some solution somewhere that doesn't involve on-screen keyboards.   Thanks kindly for the help ^^

Every laptop I've seen has a way to send those keys, by holding one key and pressing another.

So essentially, only computers with keypads have this luxury? This is a bit disappointing, considering each of those keys are redundant and shouldn't necessarily require a keypad to use effectively  :(

The Keypad keys on a standard desktop keyboard can move and zoom the map.

That could be it. . . but in Alfipiomega's Let's Play series, he moves the map around clearly irrespective of the cursor (which sits unused while he does it).

Most likely because Steve didn't code that support in would be my guess.

Hi! Nice to make your acquaintances.
I'm new to the game (just started yesterday), and I was wondering why '+' and '-', as well as the arrow keys (or WASD for that matter) weren't working to move around the map display.  I am on a Macbook Pro, natively running Windows 7 and using AcidWeb's v.  6. 30 portable launcher utility.  I apologise in advance if the answer is obvious or is explained elsewhere, but I have honestly looked and could not find a solution anywhere.
